I had a test ride of shine SP at a near by showroom. Overall the bike is great but I faced an unexpected problem there is a dead zone in the accelerator of bike. Whenever you start the engine and give accelerator it starts after sometime ( the same thing that happens when you are low on petrol) the person said that these bikes are not serviced and because of that there may be a problem. I wont take any risk. I'll double check by visiting other showrooms for test drive also I'll will be going for a test drive for hero Ignitor what do you think about that bike?

Brother, most of the test ride bikes are badly abused by the people who take test rides and by the dealer employees, because its like public property (and you know how deeply Indians care for the public property ). So they usually are low on fuel, not serviced, crashed by almost every second person who came for a test ride etc etc. If possible try a different showroom or ask them for a new vehicle (I don't think they will agree to that, but still worth asking).

When I went to buy my R15 2 years ago, the test ride bike was so bad that was worse than my splendor, but I had ridden one in the past and knew that the perticular bike was treated badly. Even the body panels were different colours on different sides. The sales man said that if person walks in and demands a test ride and we have to provide it, and when every second person drops the bike or crashes it because he thinks he is a Rossi, the test ride vehicle is bound to be in bad shape. Hop it is the same case with Honda.

Coming to Igniter, it is a carbon copy of Honda Stunner, same engine, same looks same everything. So if you like it you can go for it. Take test ride and find out if it suits you.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Ignitor was not available for test drive so I had test on xtreme sports which was a wonderful experience but as expected my dad didn't like it a bit but what he said after that was surprising! He suggested to buy avenger 150 street since unlike me my dad is kinda short in height he would not have any problem riding it I would personally love that bike but me being tall would not affect the experience right? Any reviews about that bike?

Avenger is great, I have ridden it few times in the past. You being tall will have no problem in any bike, so get you dad to test ride the avenger, if he feels comfortable, go for it.
What I felt when riding it was, that the seat is indeed low, and is very comfortable for long routes.
I did not find it easy to ride in city traffic(Personal opinion), but my friend who owns it finds it really easy. The front tyre was too far away from me and had huge turning radius. On the other hand I find very easy to flick my R15 in traffic, the same friend with Avenger finds it very difficult to ride mine.
So it is all a matter of practice.
If it suits you and your dad go for it, but don't expect the same level of refinement, build quality and smoothness as the Japs.

Great... Avenger 150 street is a good option. You will get Very comfortable ride.

As 'Ankey' mentioned, even I think it is bit difficult to ride especially in traffic. Otherwise it is a good one.

I'll be going for a test ride mostly tomorrow. I am sorry but I do not quite get what japs means (I am guessing you mean Japanese) and compare to avenger any other bike available in that segment?

In Cruisers types: You will have one more choice 'EIDER RUDDY' Which is a new Indian Motorcycle Manufacturer company EIDER MOTORS. Till now I don't know if it has lunched or not..

Super Splendor also has a low seat height - suits good for your father, but I doubt you may like it.

What about Suzuki SlingShot? --> 125cc, 5 Speed.

Yes, by Japs I mean Japanese bikes (Honda and Yamaha). The Japs are world famous for their smooth and robust engines, reliability and build quality.
Bajaj is good by Indian standards, but it comes nowhere close to the Japs in the above said terms.

and regarding comparing Avenger to any other bike in this segment, sorry to say there is no competition for Avenger. Its one of its kind in India, so it is your only option.
Make final decision only after taking test rides. Do tell us what you decide.

Super splendor is my dads first choice but its too old looking for a college guy like me either avenger 150 or shine for sure.

Shine is great but looks according to my taste is not that good. Unicorn 160 is what I am thinking now but I want some reviews if you have any friend with that bike please revert.

Two of my cousin's own old model Unicorn 150. They say, its a very good bike. Engine is very smooth and also the ride quality.

Unicorn 160 is an upgrade of 150. So I think it has all features of Unicorn 150 along with a better power. It is a very good bike. On the road, people overtake me with Unicorn 160, I hardly hear any sound.
