• mahindra mojo or himalayan!!

Hi Guys,

i have been riding a yamaha r15 for last 5 years, it has served me well and still does. However i got married last year and am looking for a good comfortable bike for touring with a pillion. my requirements are as below.

extremely comfortable for long touring for rider and pillion.

able to cruise between 80 to 100km/hr.

budget around 2.5 lakhs

should be fun to ride.

bikes considered : re himalayan and mahindra mojo. test rode both the bikes.

mahindra mojo:

i really liked this very responsive engine, seats are comfortable, feels powerful and sounds nice. love those pirelli tyres but wifey says the rear seats are small to her liking.....

re himalayan:

i did not like the engine it is not as nice as mojo. seats are comfortable for both rider and pillion.

in short i prefer the mojo but wifey prefers the himalayan, after riding the r15 for so many years, i prefer very refined engines that is the reason i am more inclined towards mojo. Also i plan to add led lamps, back rest to the bike customize it a bit for touring so that i can do a goa ride with wife.

i use my bikes with utmost care and use them for long time, please help me out with the decision guys.

Query Approved

I was wondering when a what bike query would pop up for these two bikes!

Like you mention, the Mojo would seem a more 'reliable' deal (the Himalayan has not yet been 'owned' and the Mojo has been in the market for very little time). But it is difficult to say which would be better in the long run.

When it comes to Pillion comfort, the RE wins hands down!
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Mojo for alien looks and technology.
Himalayan for... Well... being an RE.

both the bikes are relatively new and nobody knows how they will cope to the test of time.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Agree with rreneav1987. CBR 250R ABS ticks both boxes here buddy. A very refined engine and pillion comfort. You might want to consider it too.

i dunno have not ridden a cbr250r yet i,ll testdrive one and check it out, it was supposed to buy cbr250r instead of r15 but the waiting periods made me go for the r15.

meanwhile i will wait for a little more updates on mojo and himalayan.

Bajaj Caliber 220? typo right?

@shail@tourer
I agree, you definitely must try out CBR250R it has good rider as well as pillion comfort with the right ergonomics and suspension, and the bike is Fun to ride in city as well as tours, as well as tried and tested machine.

Other than that, with the mojo if Pillion SEAT is The Only Thing holding you back on your decision then you can consider making modifications to the seat to make it more comfortable, most of us do make changes to the seat to our liking when the bike is intended to use for long distance rides!.
