  • Which bike is good for me?

    Hi Xbhpians,

I am Rahul From Chennai. Earlier i have posted the requirements for getting a bike under 150000 . I chosed the bike Gixxer SF after inquiring you all. Unfortunately i have dropped the plan to buy SF. I am currently using pulsar 150 UG 4.5 , the seat was so narrow, that caused groin injury when riding it. Bike is essential for me cos daily i commute from my home to office. I feel uncomfortable while driving it and moreover i feel the same when I sitting n working during office hours. Dad insisted me to go for bikes which have broad and flat seat like the ones found in bullet 350cc. SF too has a narrow seat same as my pulsar 150.

Can you please suggest me a bike which has that type of flat seat and broad. PS i dont want to go for RE 350 cc, cos it is bulky, and i hate its thump note. engine is not at all refined., too much of vibrations, which i have test ridden last time. I am only 5 feet 8 inches tall, 63 kg.

    the requirements should be.

above 150 cc (NO to bajaj bikes)
Suitable for long rides in weekends

Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

R15S is good choice IMO, you can ride inside city easily, does not have an aggressive seating position as R15 v2. Has windscreen for touring, you can take it to place. Servicing and spares are readily available.

Take a TD with a pillion if you intended to take one during your office commute or weekend ride. It should suit you.

Re: Which bike is good for me?

        +1 for R15S.

I am not sure any bike (150 cc) would be comfortable, cause every company is trying to make their bikes as sporty as possible.
Also if I may say, the seats can easily be modified and made more comfortable by adding a layer of foam.
Or if you want really good and comfortable seat go for the gel type seats, they are easily available and do wonders in riding comfort.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Please try Hero Xtreme. It has one of the most comfortable two wheeler seat. Broad enough for a fat Butt.

            Hi archer,

Thanks for your query, however Yamaha r15s also have single long seat as my pulsar 150, the seat is of bucket type and it is not flat, broad one which fits my ass. it is narrow too. I have driven it. I was supposed to choose gixxer sf based on my requirements but dropped due to single long seat. Bullet 350 cc has single seat, evenly flat, broad which is good. But the cons is that the bike is too bulky as i am a lean guy!!!

thank you mahesh, I am considering for foreign bikes, like suzuki, yamaha and honda. above 150cc. Mileage is not a worry for me.

Re: Which bike is good for me?

It is very difficult to get a 150cc bike with a flat seat unless it is an RE (I guess so). In that case, Why not try the Continental GT, best in line from RE so far other than the Himalayan.

It has got great stance, nice touch to the vehicle, Vibes are comparatively less. State of the art Brembo brakes. Long single seat, wide enough to keep your arse happy. If not, add a gel seat to it to cushion it better.

Edit: I didnt notice the Paisa limiter. Sorry.

Yes of course archer, RE? I am aint a RE Fan. I have found KTM duke 200 seat, which is flat, broad and wide as little compared to royal enfield 350cc. KTM duke is awesome machine on the road. I have ridden my cousin's duke. Full of power feel. The sad thing is that the pillion is not suitable for ladies like my mom. I have heard the complaints... heating issue, the seats are too hard, the handle bar gives numb feel when riding, it is hard to ride, not soft like other bikes. the other bikes have the seats sloping towards the tank, is the main cons like my p150. Braking everytime in the slow traffic is too uncomfortable. Hadnt 350cc is lighter and more technology fitted, refined engine, i would have chose it as the most preffered one.... Is there any bikes which have duke 200 seat like....???

BAJAJ v15 is another option.with a straight sitting position it will be more comfortable.

I earlier had chosen Gixxer SF, cos of its excellent handling, flickable, very good for commuting and stable on highways with out any vibrations. While looking r15s, having low handle bars, which ll cause more stress on your back, i have TD this bike already. From motor beam video, it shows that r15s have vibrations at highways. the main pro is that they have pillion comfort for ladies especially my mom and the main con is that the seats are narrow , bucket shaped. . . Am still using p150 for three years.

Why not consider the TVS RTR 180 or the 200
