    Hi Xbhp'ians and moderator,

I am Rahul from Chennai. I am 5.7 ft tall 68 kg, currently own Pulsar UG 4.5 2013 model. I was planning to buy a new bike within the range 90,000 - 1,50,000 and sell my pulsar. The current bike had no signs of comfort while riding in streets, city. Please suggest a bike for me from which given below are my requirements

    1. Relaxed riding position
    2. Any engine CC 150-200
    3. Comfort while riding in streets(potholes), city and highways
    4. Refined Engine Performance
    5. Better rider and pillion comfort for ladies especially my mom!!!!
    6. Good Touring
    7. Better tubeless tyres
    8. Preferably from Suzuki, Honda and Yamaha 'No to Bajaj'

    Thank you

    Rahul

      Best solution go for Gixxer/sf.

          I would have suggested CBR150R or R15

but because you said "5. Better rider and pillion comfort for ladies especially my mom!!!!"

I recommend Gixxer or SF both are equally good.

With the spare money get a good riding gear and do some bike modding if you need to.

Because the previous pulsars had quality issues. However the new ones are top notch.Try the Pulsar 200as or if you are ready to shell a little bit more 200RS for you.
Awesome power and excellent handling with full pillion comfort

                1. Fazer or Gixxer SF or Unicorn 160
                2. Above 3
                3. No problem , since they have mono-shock
                4. No doubt on that with these 3
                5. I am not 100% sure on the pillion comfort of Gixxer SF. but Unicorn is definity a commuter bike and has ample padding to keep you happy and has good pillion comfort too.
                6. Not sure on touring with Unicorn, but SF is a good tourer. One question, How much distance do you plan to cover in a day with thse machines, some of them can ride for 2-3 hours non-stop, some becomes stressed when driving continuosly at 80kmph
                7. 2 has tubeless(Not sure about Unicorn)
                8. Brand covered.

Oh, the pricing is between your mentioned range, so its upto you to take a TD of these machines and decide. Make sure you take a TD with a pillion and get their inputs too. I bought my bike with my own jealously and anyone who sits as pillion is cursing me for good.

Uni 160 for pure pillion comfort. Among split seaters, I've seen many ladies sitting pillion on FZ2.0 comfortably. So, consider that.
Though Gixxer does not have a split-seat, the pillion seat is high imo. Otherwise the bike is good for your requirements.
If you want something on the sportier side, consider the new R15-S. Meets the criteria I think.
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

I second that! I have an AS 200 in my stable as well, and it has proved itself. I generally go on long rides and am a tourer by heart, even though my wallet cries at the thought of it.

The AS has proven good in long distance touring, city commuting and easy on the pocket in regards to spares/services. And the best part is, THE FAIRING DOESNT VIBRATE! I'm pretty sure the RS and the NS can pretty much hold it's own too.

hi allwanted... i wanted to choose sf that marks all tickboxes.. but still the most fear part is that the alloy spokes are so thin and may not be suited for riding on potholes when you are not aware of riding the bike on.... Thank you for your suggestion.

Engine quality was not so good in my p150... My friends say that pulsars are not comfy bikes to ride in the city and streets.. but they are comfy on highways ... i too experienced comfy ride from here to Mahabalipuram. I was too tired due to the wind blast when riding. i too ride 90% in city and 10% on highways. I need a full faired bike like Gixxer SF.

What do you want in a 150cc, forged wheels

No bike is meant to be ridden on potholes, you see a pothole you need to SLOW DOWN. Alloys are not going to break under day to day sane riding and occasional insane riding. If you thrash the bike with unnecessary weight and ride like a maniac on potholes..the alloys will suffer.

Have you tried the latest offerings from pulsar stable like the RS/AS/NS 200. These three bikes maintain their composure at speeds of 100-110kmph except the windblast on the naked one. If you are still inclined towards full fairings go for the R15-S, ,gixxer sf, rs200 and if you want absolute bang for the buck then AS/NS200. You might be happy with gixxer/gixxer sf but there will come a time when you will feel "there is no replacement for displacement"

                            Cheers,
                            Sanjay
