  • Suggest a motorcycle under 1.15 lakhs

Hey guys this is my first post here
I' am going to buy my first motorcycle in July. I' am really confused with so many good machines available in market.
    My choices are:
    1. Pulsar 200 AS
    2. Apache RTR 200
    3. Suzuki Gixxer SF
    4. Honda Hornet 160R

I want a problem free bike which I can take to office daily and have some small trips with my friends. I have had Fazer but but it was low on power and while trips it used to feel tensed after 85kmph.
I like the Honda Hornet and Suzki GIxxer SF. But the slight price difference between them and the bad boys mentioned in the list is too low to not consider them.
So I' am really confused now which bike to buy.

PS: I like the rtr 200 but I don't see anyone buying it in Bangalore. Is there some major issue with the bike?

    Thanks in advance .

    Query Approved

The only issue that the RTR 200 has currently, is that the company is barely being able to supply it to showrooms! That is why you would hardly see them on the road

The AS is known to have a few minor niggles. The Hornet sounds like a good bet, while the Gixxer 155 is the naked one, the SF is faired. Mentioning this specifically, since you the other bikes you have shortlisted are not full faired. The RTR is brand new, so might (just a guess) have a few initial problems.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

If you cannot wait and want a bike right now AS200 is good. I don't think Gixxer will satisfy your need for more power.

If you can wait for a few months, wait for RTR200 to see if there are any major niggles in the initial batches. Keep an eye out on the ownership thread and other user reviews, and if there are no major flaws or problems then go for it.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

To the TS. You won't find much difference between the Fazer and the Gixxer.. The gixxer will also feel stressed out on the highways as you did with the fazer. Hornet again not much of an upgrade..

My suggestion would be to test ride both the RTR 200 and the AS200.. buy the one that you feel comfortable on

Thank you for your replies guys. So I will be keeping my eyes on AS200 and RTR 200. By the way what I understood from reviews was RTR 200 became really smooth & refined on the other hand AS200 still have vibrations & not so refined. Is it true?

The AS200 is nowhere near 'harsh,Not so refined',If you want a not so refined bike,Look at the RTR 160,180 Lol

The RTR 200 is very smooth and the engine has been re-worked completely and is very refined.Though both are very well refined,The RTR 200 is better than the Pulsars. The RTR 200 has noticeably less usable power than the AS200.The AS200 is tuned more towards good touring and more highway use than urban traffic. So Power comes from Higher RPMs compared to the RTR 200.Whereas the RTR 200,Though has lesser Bhp on paper,Is well tuned for delivering best Low-end to Mid-range Power,It's great for riding in the City where cruising and top speeds won't matter much,Now with that said. The RTR 200 loses steam above 8000 RPM/100 Km/h and it takes longer to reach it's top speed. The AS200 will find it home on Highways as the Power is tuned on Upper-Midrange and Top-end.So if you're looking for a tourer and outright better performance,Go for the AS200.If you will mostly be riding (fast) in the city and love mad acceleration (Great performance on 0-60 Km/h),With better flickability and would like a bit more refinement,Go for the RTR 200.If you're going for the RTR 200,I highly recommend you to get the Top-end Variant which has ABS and RLP,Comes with Grippy Pirelli Tyres and also has Fuel Injection. The thing is,The Bike has just launched and TVS is taking time for deliveries,Even show pieces are having a hard long wait.So you have to wait a bit before TVS has get the deliveries stable.

            All the best

Hornet & GIxxer are both similar in terms of power delivery. Considering the 200+ cc bikes and others, if you want to keep your highway ride happy, opt for AS200 or RTR200.

Not sure if the TD for RTR200 is available. If not, wait for some time so that some reviews or ownership thread might pop-up and should give you much better idea to choose between the above mentioned bikes.
