Re: Need suggestion in buying a new bike
Brother, looks like your heart is set on RS200. If you don't feel the confidence in riding it. Go back to the showroom and ask them for a longer test ride. Spend some time with the bike. If they do not agree to give long test rides, visit 2 or 3 Bajaj showrooms and take test rides there. Eventually you will feel comfortable with the bike.
And a 200 CC engine does not mean that you have to ride at triple digit speeds every time you get on the saddle. Ride at speeds that you are comfortable with, no matter if the bike is 100 cc, 200cc or 1000cc.
Ride carefully, responsibly and you will be fine.
All the best.I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Re: Need suggestion in buying a new bike
Brother! As you said, I was very much impressed with the bike. The only thing I am worried about is the quality of Bajaj bikes as pointed out by many. I want this bike to serve the purpose for atleast 5 years. And I accept the fact that it depends on how we maintain it but still I have this small fear in me that is preventing me from going for it. The one which I chose will be there for the next 5-7 years and that is the reason I am taking too much of time to decide. The quality of Bajaj bikes I have mentioned above is not from any personal experience and is purely based on the reviews, experiences posted by others in the web. Hopefully you friends out there will assist me in taking a good decision :-)Originally posted by Ankey View PostBrother, looks like your heart is set on RS200. Re: Need suggestion in buying a new bike
Yes, you are right about the quality. I myself find the Bajaj a bit low on build quality. but then again I own a Yamaha R15, and its build quality and reliability is second to none. From what I have heard about RS200, the fairing plastic is flimsy and prone to rattling and vibrations right out of the showroom (not my personal experience, heard from friends, so cannot confirm). But then again giving ABS and a 200CC motor at such a cost will affect the quality. I myself have never ridden the bike, So forgive me for not giving the accurate info.Originally posted by Navee46 View PostBrother! As you said, I was very much impressed with the bike. All I can advice is to check out the ownership experience thread and read it end to end. Talking to the owners can help too, but beware of fanboys (they will make it look the best damn thing on the planet; just like Bullet fanboys do). In case you have any other queries feel free to ask. Happy bike hunting.I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

I think you should consider the Ktm D200 as an option because it meets all your requirements. No replacement for an engine Displacement

Sure. I am also planning to decide based on quality of the bike. But it is very tiring at the same time brother thinking about the same thing. Hopefully I make a good decision. Re: Need suggestion in buying a new bike
There is your choice mate! Motorbike choice is made with heart!Originally posted by Navee46 View PostFriends! Today I went for a test ride in pulsar rs200,honda hornet 160 and royal Enfield Himalayan.
First was Royal Enfield Himalayan. ...
Next is Pulsar RS200....
Last was Honda hornet 160r ...
I visited TVS showroom to get a glimpse of Apache RTR 200 4v....
I visited Yamaha showroom to have a look at fz and R15 models. ...
I had planned this day exclusively to visit all showrooms and do a TD on all bikes which were on my list. I thought that will help me to finalise my decision. But still I am unable to make the final call.
Below are the list of bikes I am considering after today's experiences
1. Pulsar RS200(even though I am not sure I will be able to ride this beast, I like it personally)
2. Pulsar 220f
3. Hornet 160r
4. Fz-s
5. Apache RTR 200 4v
Kindly help me out fellow riders. Thanks in advance guys.
PS: I know my english is not that great. Kindly bear with me.
If Ability to manage it is your only concern then dont worry, take another TD. coming from a different bike you may feel less confident, but you will surely grow into it soon.!

Re: Need suggestion in buying a new bike
Today went for TD in Apache RTR 200 4v. The bike looked great when seen in the flesh. I liked the console very much. Coming to the TD experience, I personally found my legs getting locked under the fuel tank. Since I have long legs, I found it very difficult to even move my legs. I felt so cramped sitting on it. Is it my height that is not suitable for riding this bike or my riding posture is not correct for this bike? I don't know. I have chosen to not go for this one.
My options now reduced to three
1. Pulsar RS200 (24.5 bhp being the sole reason inspite of so many quality constraints)
2. Yamaha R15S (zero maintenance and also the brand value)
3. Honda CBR 150R ( only sports bike from Honda in my budget)
RE,KTM,SUZUKI and TVS bikes are out of the equation now. Hopefully I make a good decision soon:-)

Sure bro. Thanks for your valuable advice. That is the reason I am taking this much time to make a decision.
1. Pulsar RS200
2. Pulsar 220
3. Yamaha R15S
I think I have set my heart on pulsar. I am personally in awe of RS200 because of its power and looks. It has so many attractive features but I am worried about its quality. If not RS200, my next bike in the list would be Pulsar 220. I know again it is a Pulsar but reason being is its VFM and bhp. And also it saves me 50k rupees. But I have a question here. Will Bajaj do a crazy thing like discontinuing Pulsar 220 like it did with NS200? If it does discontinue the bike, will it be difficult to get spare parts? If not these two bikes, my third and final choice is R15S, mainly due to refined engine and low maintenance. But I am finding it difficult to get a TD on R15S in my place. Also is it good for city commute and how about it's performance at lower rpms? Kindly help me out guys. Thanks in advance:-)

Re: Need suggestion in buying a new bike
naveen46.. you really shouldn't be worried about the quality now-a-days. The pulsars have come a long way and are now neck to neck with others. R15 is okay, but not as powerful as the RS200. Also it isn't too comfortable in low revs.
P220 is outdated now.
Ride safe and have fun.

Re: Need suggestion in buying a new bike
Hi Naveen, Based on your test rides I guess the RS 200 fits your bill but at the same time R15S is not something to be let down , both these bikes have more backward positioned foot pegs and it gives you more ease on your legs for your height. R15S on one hand is more nimble compared to the RS 200 (just my opinion) Looking at your preference for R15S over the R15 V2 is I guess the pillion seat, in that case if your looking for pillion seat comfort as well than take a test as a pillion on both the bikes RS 200 and R15S to get an idea about that factor as well. Hope I was helpful.
Cheers And Ride safe.Last edited by AbiRam; 07-25-2016, 11:48 AM.

Re: Need suggestion in buying a new bike
I own AS200 so, same engine as RS200 but with carburetor. During a long journey I drove one of group member's R15V2. And just fell in love with it. Butter smooth engine which I couldn't feel any vibes at all. It has got enough power. Never felt underpowered coming from 200cc(23hp). My height is 5.11 and it was very comfortable for me.

Re: Need suggestion in buying a new bike
Hi brother! I see that you own an R15v2 from your profile. I have few doubts about this bike as I haven't done any TD on this bike. Is it not good for city commute( especially stop-and-go traffic ) since you have mentioned about it's performance in low revs?Originally posted by nadz11.ns View Postnaveen46.. you really shouldn't be worried about the quality now-a-days. Re: Need suggestion in buying a new bike
Coming from other bikes to R15, you will feel the difference. It's not an easy bike to ride in stop go traffic especially due to low torque in low revs and its posture.Originally posted by Navee46 View PostHi brother! But with time you will get used to it if you get it. I like my fz way more in traffic.
I would suggest you to try to get a test ride. Because you will be investing nearly 1.25L and you don't want to be unhappy later.
Ride safe and have fun.
