I did a bit (not lot) of research, talked to a few mechanics before I narrowed down my search to the apache RTR 150. but still I'm not sure if it is the correct choice. below are my details.
Height - 5' 11"
weight - 62 KG
use of bike - riding to work & back everyday - 65km daily
travel hill country & long rides once a month or so
past-------------------------
I have been the proud 2nd hand owner of my Discover 135 - 2009 model. I have to say Im very lucky to have the 135 as my 1st bike as a beginner! I'm using the bike for nearly 3 years now and have had minimum maintenance and very good performance in fuel and riding. Anyways, I feel it's time to move to my very first NEW bike.
Requirement-------------------------
I want to go for a 150cc motorbike, with a known very good engine & handling, will be commuting to work mostly and my max speed would be 60 kmph, but on long tours speeds will go up. most of the time I will have my Wife with me, so the safety and the seating condition of the pillion rider is also important.
Research--------------------------
pulsar 150 UG 4.5, they only give 1 year or 10,000 KM warranty. when I talk to a mechanic, he said the new pulsars get engine trouble after one year or so and that's common, given that there warranty is 10,000 KM I'm going to stay away from it.
Yamaha FZ - got to know it's a very comfy & low maintenance bike, but the budget does not allow me to get that.
Honda CB trigger - not a fan 7 also the budget is way over
Suzuki Gixxer - loved the design & also the cost was OK, but the seating disappointed me. so no go there
Hero Hunk - a close call, love everything except the edgy design - still on the fence with this one
Why I'm thinking of Apache-----------
this is the only bike that gives a warranty of 75000Km or 5 years, so they are damn sure of there bike, the new aggressive headlight is giving me a hard time!
All the features and the fully digital instrument panel are the things I like. heard the stock TVS tires are not that grippy. other than that, I wish to know what's your take on this?
