dude why to post a thread take a test ride of both some people like sporty position of RTR and some do not, so you can choose which bike is more comfortable, or you want more performance, and which bike makes you feel more confident.

RTR FI..Simple..Its probably the most kickbutt high-Value of money thrill you can have on the roads today. period..And it returns about 65 on the highway..

the FZ is kickass too but performance isnt all that great beyond 40 or so, city-biased torque, no efficiency (RTR-very affordable)..

The RTR is seriously a joy to ride..incredible fun..i'm hooked to revving the crap outtaf her..

[quote=shark80;188213]My vote goes to Fz... is a quick bike, reliable but down on mileage though

Quick bike huh?? I think even the heavier Uni would walk past the FZ.
Performance is "not upto the mark" period.
What the FZ is good for is "Stoppies" Lots of it.
A very bad bike for two-up riding or touring.
The Wide flat handle bars are confidence inspiring while taking steep turns, add to it the wide rubbers. That's about the only good things.

Now take the RTR, its one Hooligan of a bike. Jeez, it was popping wheelies at idle speeds!!! Now if this is your first bike id say stay clear from the RTR, unless you stick to your limits motoring expertise.

Wanna have a reliable, trouble free, maintainance free bike...then Uni is your bike. It'll give the mileage you want and more than enough performance for a new rider and Dad would be happy(pocket and rider friendly). The New Uni comes with striking graphics...take a look.
This just might be the bike you're looking for.

        -Happy riding.

i will stay with my old post do not take opinions from ppl here, take a test ride and choose i rode FZ for long before buying it. I liked RTR but its sporty stance etc was not upto my taste. as far as touring is concern any bike is good which can constantly do 90-100, ppl have done touring on FZ and ppl even done touring on scooters, so claiming a bike is non touring solely depends on rider.

Most of the things depend on rider ppl say some bike is slow from stop some may say its fast, depends on rider, some people pass through traffic fast and some slow.

            Making it Difficult for you

            I own a RTR, so normally i will suggest u a RTR

But a friend of mine own a FZ, and I sometimes ride it, i must say its a really good bike in this 150 cc segment

Comparing this two machine will not work, both are good at some point. So you decide after a good test drive, and please dont drive just for five minutes and decide.

P.S. @Mods----- Please don't allow this topic again(RTR vs FZ). It has been discussed hell lot of time before

This could be OT, but going by your requirements, you are looking for more of a long termer which will feel as good as new after years&still be pocket friendly (I'm talking about maintenance costs here, not mileage).
IMO it should either be the Honda Unicorn or Suzuki GS 150R. I would pick the GS over the Honda because of its new age features.

+1... this is a true suggession... different bikes are good at different things... even a bajaj platina is good at it's mileage... we must admire that... so it's up to your choice which bikes suits you well...

@All can we start a new topics boxer vs R15, platina vs RTR, scooty vs Bull... ...
