That is unfortunate that it has no abs, but it is still one of the best selling 500cc and up bikes so depends on the person imo

If it hasn't been ridden(as a test drive bike), then yes i would buy it if long term ownership is the plan...even otherwise the price difference for a 2016 one is 50k which should not be prohibitive

For all you know they've been using it sometimes, and reset it to sell it, it has been there after all for a year or such🙄

And even if they didn't, if I had to spend a lot for this, I wouldn't want to stay in doubt and be insecure about it, especially when the newer model is there for 50k more.

And lol this thread has become some intense discussion one, I think OP already made his decision [emoji14]

Exactly what i would do. .get a new one but there are ways to say if the bike has been rough handled as a test bike without looking at the speedo too..

Yeah it is getting intense lol but just sharing opinions here, so imo its not wrong. .and the OP i believe is not going for the tnt 300 after someone listed all its issues so we can still confuse him ☺

And i had the same thoughts of going for the rc or duke 390 as an all round bike till i realized i much prefer my p220 for everyday and have a versys 650 for touring 2 up, and hence the "intense" arguments

Yeah I love bike discussions anyways [emoji14]
Mine would be the 600gt for touring and the ninja 300/RC 390 for daily(impractical coz riding posture maybe, but fairing is love)

And tyre tread, or signs of wear overall in paint job and such are the only things I think can be checked to see if its used. Unless if you really wanna get into it, you can open it up, see the brake pad wear and stuff, that would help I think, but again, that's so much of extra work 🙄

I think how the engine sounds and behaves would be a good starting point to see if it has been bashed around a lot..could be wrong for the 600cc and up though cause they might be sturdier

Oh no u had to bring up the gt huh? That's heavier, with no abs and less torquier than the versys though more than a lakh cheaper my friend (not to mention better availability of service centers) .. guess you have seen powerdrift videos on both. ..amazing ones....anyway, to each his own. I considered the gt at one point apart from the ninja but then launched the baby versys which sealed the deal for me

Yeah the rc or ninja is ideal but i m getting old and not for crotch rockets, so will just look instead of ride the rc whenever one puts my p220 to shame ( maybe take multiple test rides occasionally lol)..where i am from the ninja will be an attention magnet so i just can't let it out of my sight and be in peace, else would have got one

Actually my decision to buy a 300 was solely because Im yet to get used to indian traffic conditions. I have owned a GSXR 600 while in the US and have 4 years under my belt. . . but here in India, I am just scared lol . . so for a few years 300 is good enough for me I feel. I hope you have heard the 300 in flesh, because it sounds MEATY and Mean.
Things are gonna be really crazy for you here in India, because the traffic here is mad. You will find driver driving in wrong lane and stopping anywhere without hazard light. So as per me 300 CC is more than sufficient for Indian road and traffic in India. So may be you can TD a Yamaha R3 , because if we talk of spec than none beat R3 in segment be it Ninji, honda 250, TNT 300. Rest choose whatever your heart says.

ROFL I can just imagine how much you'd freak on how people ride/drive here as compared to the US. But on a serious, although slightly off topic note, be extra cautious, people/ animals etc can turn up from anywhere, and I mean literally anywhere.
Today itself there were a few cows on the road, I went around them. There was this one cow on the left, pretty good distance away. It suddenly runs into a pole and doubles back straight at me, I braked hard, rear tyre skid and did like a 90 degree turn, but abs saved me from falling or getting hurt. After that, I think I've seen everything possible [emoji14]

If ever possible, ask my dad about my driving rage. . . Its like I developed anger issues after coming back. . . so much that my dad doesnt feel safe having me drive alone. . . But in reality I just feel really helpless and sad by seeing the condition of this country. (just driving wise). its like 90% a**holes and only 10% potholes that are the problem.
Being on two wheels is being liberated. The vastness one feels being under the open sky. The whole feeling. . . cant be described.

You need premium fuel on daytona, r1, z1000, zx14r, speed triple etc. Though they can run on normal fuel too, but they cut down on power to accommodate for the lower ron rating.

Yes, that's why I have my eye on the Hayabusa. Good mileage, comfortable and huge fuel tank.

But 18L is not something I am willing to sell a flat for, especially since after 5 years the Busa will be worth 15L max while the flat will be more than 3 times that.

That is actually another VERY STRONG reason, I do not find logical to spend on a 600 . 300 might Not be logical too but a little less illogical comparatively lol :P
