If you want a bike just for sound, what will you do when you get bored of it?
But why buy a bike that doesn't even excite me ? Have already owned the 250 cbr once 5 years ago
Being on two wheels is being liberated. The vastness one feels being under the open sky. The whole feeling. . . cant be described.

Ride safe, Ride long.

Oh, I see. And you sold it because it didn't excite you? Can you elaborate?

So decide if you can maintain such expenses on the long run or it is just going to be a short one before you jump on to something big.
Woah! you have already changed the sprockets!! how much have you done on the ODO now and also the tyres...I am sure you must have put a lot of miles on it then...

Oh what happened to your 600i, you sold it ?

Yes, the cost of the tyres for 600i will be around 15k rear + 8-10k front =almost 25k
I had inquired about the chain sprocket and the cost is around 25-30k Rs. Life of the sprocket is around 20-25k kms. Same life for Tyres

Now, I have shifted my house to a different location. I need to cover around 44 kms/day. If I do the same thing, the avg cost for maintaining 600i will be 1 lakh/year including fuel + Services + Spare parts.

Hence I am planning to buy a scooter for daily rides and keep 600i for occasional riding may be twice a week.

So, Please think about the maintenance cost of superbikes before buying. It not just only about buying a superbike, it is about maintaining it. The avg service cost is around 7k for 600i

OT: Sorry for stealing the TS limelight here.

No buddy, personal commitments, was in dire need of cash. So, gave it away for a good cause. May come back after a while.

You know I thought and thought and thought a LOT about it. and Emotionally it was 600 but Logically it could never go past 300 even with leniency. In my personal situation.

I had taken 600i test drive earlier. . the other day i took the 300 for a spin. and I just knew it was what i wanted. It sounds like an I4, fills the emotion a little bit, and it doesn't cost as much as the 600i, fills the logic a little bit. and EUREKA !

I honestly think with the 300 I can have just as much fun on weekend rides to ease off my weekly stress as anyone else on a 600. . . . . after all its not what you ride, its how you ride. Right?

To be Honest, I was in desire for a 600 cc as well until recently when I really wanted an upgrade from my ZMR.. when I started reading about the 600cc bikes, I figured out i can never afford it. Afford it as in post purchase. I am from a middle class family and I don't seek money from my father. I currently own a ZMR and till now, I have had no issues with the bike.. Not whatsoever.. it has been so much user friendly I forgot a lot about maintenance.. On reading about 600cc bikes, I learnt I will have to spend a lot of money after purchasing the bike. I cannot fill up normal fuel, The cost of spare parts will eat away my pocket and well, I don't have experience riding anything more than 250cc..

I put together my requirements and figured out a 250 - 300 cc would do for me.. shortlisting in progress..

going by your requirements, you can take a look at the TNT 300 (the exhaust note is beautiful), the Z250 (Looks devilish), the Ninja 300 (beauty in disguise) or a Yamaha R3 (Lot of issues reported recently though)

I am on a look out for a pre owned Ninja 250 as I simply love the looks of that bike..

Practically, a 600 cc bike is not for me so I ditched those dreams of mine

and after a brief discussion with TheArcher84, I have decided to go easy on my pocket

Let me fill in something for you here. Few members from our riding group who owns the TNT300 had issues with the bike

1. Starter relay goes kaput after a while and can be replaced under warranty
2. Horn doesn't work at higher temperatures and there are few issues with the horn set up itself. Even after multiple replacements, still people find it negative
3. The spares are equally costly that of a 600, so maintenance is not cheap with 300 either, could be cheaper than 600, but definitely not the cheapest of them all
4. The biggest downside IMO is the SVC cost and its interval, Second service for my 600 costed me close to 7.5k, funny thing, the 300 also costed close to 6k. Not far away eh !!!

I am not going against the brand now since I am not part of the BENELLI family anymore, It is just that I am throwing everything on the table for you to look at and decide. All SBKs has its pros and cons, dont get blind folded just by the look and the eargasmic sound. I would suggest you to talk to fellow owners and come to a decision.

Cheerio !!

Wow man! and I was thinking TNT 300 now it is never going to be in my list Me still in the planning phase But the information above is very useful. People now can go for the 600i instead of the 300 as they are almost similar when it comes to maintenance

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the CBR650F can use normal fuel. As does the Suzuki Hayabusa.

And the Honda has 3 free services. Only problem is that it looks weird in the front. Like a deformed onion split in half.

They can run on normal fuel. But the risk of riding them with the fuel in India is high..

Check out the ninja 650...the dependable and low cost 650 for india....they have a price cut now too so i think OTR is approx 5.5 lakh which is a deal imo.. don't just shoot for i4..them things have to be revved up for torque whereas the ninja has it down low so much more fun...or the er6n if you want a lighter version. .

No ABS in either of them. Wouldn't pay so much for such a powerful bike with no ABS.
