  • Planning to buy my first bike

Hi guys.. am planning to buy a bike for my daily computing..
My office is around 20 kms from my house.. so that will be the most part of my weekday travel.. during weekends I spend time with friends and roam around.. so it'll be around 400 kms every week min..
So basically I'm looking for a good bike around 1 lakh (max), which looks stylish and also doesn't take a toll on the mileage. Factors like after sales service availability and maintenance are also key..
I searched online and filtered the list down to 4..
    1. Suzuki Gixxer SF (REAR DISC model)
    2. Honda Hornet CB 160R
    3. TVS Apache RTR160
    4. Yamaha FZ 2.0
Help me in reaching a clear mindset..

    Thanks in advance!

I will suggest you to consider the upcoming Bajaj Pulsarr 150 NS.
In my opinion that's the most stylish beast.
I have no idea about the performance though, but the brand name Pulsar won't let us down.😎👍

The 3 Japs you have shortlisted are very good. You cannot go wrong with any of those.
if going for RTR go for 180 rather than 160. good street bike, handles well. Vibrates a bit, when compared to the Japs.
Take test rides of all of them and then get the one that suits you the best.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Go for Suzuki Gixxer SF (rear disc) or Yamaha FZ v2.0 FI.
It's not about how hard you get hit... It's about how hard you get hit and just keep moving forward.

Your story may not have such a happy beginning... But that doesn't make you who you are... It is the rest of your story... Who you chose to be.

You need to buy the Street Hawk Bike from the TV Series...thats the only bike suitable for Daily Computing (as you mentioned )

Jokes apart; Gixxer, Hornet, Yamaha FZ and Apache. Are all bikes with different posture and riding stance.

You have not specified your height, weight, etc And Upon this all ITS GONNA BE YOUR FIRST Bike So...I would really suggest You take plenty Test Rides with these bikes, In Traffic areas preferably; so you will get a clear Idea how a particular bike is going to treat you under the circumstances (on a clear road, all bikes are a breeze to ride!).

Since your budget is around 1L so why don't you test ride RTR200 its very good machine.
FZ is underpower , hornet is good but you won't feel the punch.
Gixxer is awesome bike with very good top end 130kmph

Re: Planning to buy my first bike

Im 5'10, i weigh the same and i own a gixxer SF carb+drum brake model, Can't go wrong in buying it except for minor niggles with quality, but overall the build (especially the engine and other major components) is good, handling is superb and it doesnt run out of breath too quickly. Riding posture is comfortable. What you'll have to look at is how good the service centers are in your area. I live in a city with only one dealer and the service there is not upto the mark.
You should also try test riding all the bikes you stated and see what suits you best all the best!

I once rode my friend's gixxer on nice road, with throttle completely open, it was doing 117 and wouldn't go above that no matter what.. That was among the first lot of gixxers though. Handling and mileage was awesome for a 150 cc.

Re: Planning to buy my first bike

]Hi! This is my first post here. I have been riding a Honda Activa since last 4 years.
Now i want to purchase a bike. My budget is 1L and i have shorlisted used Honda CBR 250r STD 2013/14 model and used Pulsar RS200 ABS 2015 model which i will hopefully get in my budget. I have very less knowledge of bikes and i dont have much experience in riding a bike as well.
I have shortlisted these two bikes because i like their looks and want to buy 1 of the above 2. My daily commute is within the city that is 10-15kms everyday and i rarely hit the highways, maybe once in 2-3 months. I need help regarding the maintenance cost of these two bikes. How much does an average service cost? What is the mileage i can expect in city. How much is the annual maintenance cost of RS200?
I want a bike which will be easy on the pocket.
Also i have read on many sites that RS200 suffers from fairing vibration. Is that true?
Please help me choose between these 2.
                              Thanks in advance 😊
