It is getting launched but do we have a concrete news for next month. After the launch, they will take atleast 2 months to show up at dealers.. also, the first lot of bikes are prone to niggles so it is best to avoid the first lot.. So the buyer should wait for a period of 6 months at-least in my Opinion

I felt the Himalayan can be thrashed around and the main reason why I thought about it. RC has too much of an aggressive stance. And honestly I cant maintain a Ninja. benelli doesnt have a showroom in my city too. CBR is the one left.
Thanks for the complement. Himalayan probably can be thrashed around, the only factor that's a Drawback for RE is their machines are not backed by strong and supportive Service, and that includes Trained Technicians as well as the over all Attitude of Troubleshooting Approach of the ASC. Its a thrill each time i fire up my RE TBTS and i have fortunately not faced an issue with ASC, but then see as an RE owner it became my subconscious plan to scourge for good NON RE mechanic in my vicinity, and that is why i am in a comfort zone as of now.

I also agree with you for not being fan of full faired bikes. Mostly because It would make me a nervous wreck to leave a full faired bike in a crowded parking spot knowing that someone's gonna be a smart @$$ and park too close and leave scrape marks. But then now there are surface protectors available for bikes as well it seems, from known companies like 3M. So that part is addresses. Besides for a bike that's gonna be really chewing on some road with high velocity, fairing really helps to keep maximum draft of air away from the rider.

Yes. I am aware of that illness in RE ASCs, and the same makes me sceptical about buying one. But anyday I am head over heels over the raw thump. Unlike the other newages, a laidback engine is a plus.
Fairing is a letdown because of another reason for me. I like to know what is going on down there, how the parts are holding up. So visual permeability matters. Yes, scratches too are an annoying issue.

Re: Upgrading from an NS 200. Need suggestions.

The four months have flied by and I did a few extensive test rides of RE Classic. Almost went to a RE showroom to book one, and voila, an edgy sales person. Backed off.
The CBR is not currently listed in Honda's online portfolio. Any news about it?
How is the FZ 25? I am still stuck cause of the lack of choices in the market.
Why is the SR 400 not available in India..

            ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Time has never been my best companion. From college submission deadlines to project deadlines at work, I have managed to fight him till date. The four months are almost over. But the times have managed to be a fierier opponent than the concept of time. Taunting me whenever I try to fight it by asking for a timeless machine. I am confused. Like the buildings from the past centuries which still serve their purpose, why is there not a machine which is meant to stay?

I have still not been able to decide on what is going to be my machine. And the quest has come far from where it originally started. I visited the RE showroom, to be greeted by a four month waiting period and an edgy salesman. The CBR 250 R has vanished from the Honda line up with much fight left in it. When all the manufacturers are busy putting LEDs in the head lights, where am I to search for my muse? Where am I to find the classic? Where am I to find peace?

I think, I will take an uber.
