  • Need help in choosing bike

    Hii,
I am riding splendor nxg for last 7 years and though it is working fine now I feel its time to change(Maybe influenced by ads).
My height is 5ft 2 inches and I can mange to merely touch toes on both sides in my existing bike. I would need bike for daily office commute and few highway ride occasionally.
My requirement for new bike are as follows:
    i. Comfort,
    ii. Decent mileage
iii. Family comfort(I will some time ride with my wife and my 1.5 year daughter)
iv. Stability and sturdiness as planning to use the new bike for at least another 5 years (and I may travel with family some time).
    v. Service station availability in south Kolkata West Bengal India and also parts should be easily available and preferably not too much costly.
vi Last but not least fun factor and driving pleaseure.

I have thinking about following bikes(dont have any preference for any brand and styling other than criteria mentioned above)

    Honda unicorn 160,
    Honda shine sp,

TVS apache rtr 160/180(have heard their stock Tyre slip a lot is that true?)

    Bajaj pulsar 150,
    bajaj avenger street 150/220

    Yamaha fz/fzs

    Royal Enfield classsic 350

    Hero ignitor

Please suggest which bike would be good for me as per my height and my requirement. Any other suggestion for better option would also be appreciated.

This is my first post please suggest me if any details or info required from my side to get answer from experts out ther .

    Thanks in advance.

Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Bro since your height is 5.2 and sometime you will travel with your wify as well i would recommend to stick on avenger 150
Honda unicorn seat height won't suit you, though you won't face any issue on tarmac in smooth traffic but think of a scenario when u rode with pillion in B2B traffic when leg support is required.
Splendor weight is just 100KG and seat is narrow one so you did not find much issue riding it but the machine i you are thinking is 136KG in weight so do your calculation and decide one, before buying do test ride the bike with and without pillon.

My opinion is still Avenger 150 for you.

      Safe ride

I Agree, Avenger would be a good choice. Its a solid statement in itself.

plus The new versions look good, they are known for comfort, Backed by a Solid legacy, and now available in 220cc as well!

Re: Need help in choosing bike

Considering your height, Avenger is the best bet, you will not find it difficult to plant your foot when in need. Only drawback I see, is the large turn radius unless your splendor and it is not that easy to maneuver in B2B traffic and I not sure if you could switch lanes at high speed if necessary. Take TD and decide.

If you want less power there is always Avenger 150, If you want more power, go for the bigger version. If you like touring, go for the Cruise model, it comes with the wind-shield.

Avenger is a better bet than all the other bikes in the list.. RE will be too heavy and won't suit you..

Take good care of your bike and she will run long.. very long..

We all wish the same for you
Go for avenger 150. One of my friends has it and i feel like, selling my NS and going for avenger 150.
Decent power, good fuel efficiency, easy availability of spares, good comfort.
This is the best bike as per all your stated requirements.

+ 1 for Avenger. the new one with alloys looks really cool.
                  Take test rides and decide..
                  All the best.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Go for Avenger.. Even I got it even though my height is 5'7 mainly because of its seating comfort for long daily commutes.
