Yeah sure. The Honda CBR 250 is a great bike for beginners. It's got smoother throttle delivery than the Duke 200/390.

I moved from cycle to CBR 250 in 2012 and the transition was great. Since I was new to the gearbox, I drove the bike from dealer to home in first gear.

Be careful while getting off the bike if you're a short guy. Make sure the side stand is fully engaged when you get off. The second day of ownership I accidentally kicked the bike while getting off, and it fell down.

Learn to coordinate clutch accelerator and brakes smoothly. Learn to balance the motorcycle on one leg, coz she is heavy. 167kg iirc.

Once you cross ~5000kms on the CBR 250, all other smaller bikes will feel like cycles. Especially the Duke.

Who knows? Right now you are just a line on the internet to all of us. Why not give our imaginations some work and tell us a little about yourself? Of course, I respect your privacy and if telling us your height and weight and stuff is a creepy proposition for you, I won't force you to. In such a situation, I could end up giving you the wrong advice, which I really wouldn't like to have on my head.

So, if you have to ask, please tell us more.

        Cheers.

P.S.: Sorry if that sounded a little douchy.

P.P.S.: Oh, also, each sub-forum has like a bunch of stickies, so if you're new maybe just go through them? That would benefit you.

Is CBR a good bike:- It Sure is, but just like any other motorbike it has its Pros and Cons.

Is CBR a good bike to start with:- well that depends, on your previous experience with bikes as well as your comfort level with CBR250R.

Have you test ridden this bike? What did you like about it and what did you not like about it?

An other bikes in your mind? ergo Did you narrow down to CBR250R on your own or by anyone's suggestions?

To give you near correct answer, more details about your intended use are needed. Because each bike have its different characteristics. Talking about 250 cc bike you will have to check if you want to use this bike only for city commute as this could be inconvenient. The flick-ability, turning radius, heating problems, gearing ratio all need to be considered. Offcourse, people have been using Bullet for generations, it is a matter of practice, and now there are options available.

If your height is at least 5.5" and weight is more than 60 go for it, its heavy machine so i won't recommend for short rider, in highway you don't need both leg support , but suppose you ll have to cross heavy traffic like 20-30 minutes then with one leg you will be crapped.
