I've test ridden both of them. Street 750 didn't have good brakes back then, they were like drum brakes, even worse than my Karizma or Duke 390, but I believe this has been solved now. Sound was like any normal bike, and definitely unlike Harley's legendary thump.
Its low end, starting torque seemed better than Iron 883, although Iron is not bad at starting, and Iron picks up better later on...

Finishing of Street 750 was so-so. Welding and wiring and all, didn't present the perfect sight, although its tolerable.

Iron 883 was nice riding, but it was a hellish noisy thumper!! Its bass resonates in closed areas like anything! May cause a headache if you wish to take it upto sensitive ages like 40-50 or so.
Street was comparatively silent. Street's looks are a like or hate though.

In terms of budget, Street 750 wins it nice and easy I guess. Iron 883 is however, pure Harley sound and feel though, probably the prime reason why you would want this brand anyways... isn't it?
H I samarth thanks for the clear thought you have shared. I think I am almost invoiced towards the ninja 650 . I don't know how the ride quality , maintenance , spares avaibility and breakdown issue would be . I just wanted to have you inputs on this . Since street 650 is something I really liked to write but yes, the harley thump is missing . Even after many modifications , it lacks looks . Also post discussion with few riders told me that engine performance for n650 is a better driven one and the gear box too . Can you guide me please ?

I guess a Triumph Street Twin should be a great option for your use. Its sleek, easy to ride and comfortable for everyday use too. I had ridden the earlier Bonneville extensively and found it good for daily usage in case one would want to...! Best part is the service offered by Triumph India is reliable.
You could try the Harleys too but I felt the Triumphs were better off in terms of reliability and dynamics. The Harley Super Low used to be around but its been discontinued now. You could get a pristine used one. Harley after sales is good too.
[QUOTE=surya47;1264875]You haven't owned a bike since so long. And you want to start by riding a 600cc. I would suggest you start with RE 350, use it for a couple of years and then go for a 600cc. And many people who are age > 30 ride KTM's and R15's. If you start using the RE you can get acquainted with the problems of owning a bike and how to overcome them. It will be easier for you.
I have seen lot of your age people who buy costly cruisers, supersports and still use their car most of the days.

Hi surya , I totally buy what you are saying . But if you really understand my point of view I am coming from. If I go for a RE and then own it for a year and look for a newer one, trust me I will not be able to do so . It would curb the anxiety for a big bike ever and I will end up with it and Stat living . I might sound hasty but this is I know will eventually happen . So.. I would be using my car often but bike is for pleasure and fun rides . I might do 4-5 Days touring as well on it .

The thought I am stuck at right now is , whether to go for a harley or not ? Earlier the compete Yoon was between iron 883 and street 750 . Post reviews from friends and guides like you, the search has zeroed down to ninja 650 and street 750 . Though street doesn't appeals me much . Still would seek all of yours advise

Ninja 650, the present one, is a good touring choice if you like a balanced riding position, not too cruiser like and not too sporty, but just in middle of these extremes.
Its a reliable bike, just like all Kawasakis are anyways. You're less likely to have a breakdown like situation anywhere, however, note that Kawasaki service and spares are quite expensive.

In the low rpm, the torque by Ninja 650 won't be as much as Harley but elsewhere in the powerband, you'll be getting a good push on the Ninja.

Summarizing both the choices, let me finalise each's major advantages over the other:-

      1. Ninja 650: Reliabilty, Overall build and parts Quality, top speed, acceleration, low weight, handling, braking, looks, overall smoothness, etc.

      2. Street 750: Low rpm torque and cruisability, comfort (most probably), spare parts cost, etc.

Both have an exhaust sound that is so-so, average at best. So, no point getting Street now, except for torque.

My overall suggestion would be that you get a Ninja 650. Not only will it look great and prove to be a reliable companion for years and years on, it will also have a good resale value, since its a reliable Japanese bike.

One more choice would be to get Kawasaki Z650, its just the Ninja 650 without the fairing/ full mask. It will be lighter in weight, and in price too, almost Rs. 60,000 lesser or so (don't recall the exact amount).

But first, do spend some time, on a common 250-390cc bikes, to get a hold of the power you're about to own...
