Same price range may be less even with added safety feature.
No way. You ride access once and you won't care about activa. Maybe there will be better scooters in future but at this moment when I'm buying one, I will go for access. Anything else substantiating your point will make me laugh.

I forgot to mention how stable the scooter is. You can come to absolute standstill in traffic and still have your legs on the floorboard for many a seconds!

I'm 5'11" my self and got myself a Suzuki Access 125 Disc variant a month and half back, and absolutely agree with everything you have felt about the scoot. Its comfortable, light, zippy and convenient. With ladies stand, indicator buzzers I got it for 70,8xx on road here in Hyderabad got the mobile charger port the next day for 134 rs. Got done with the first service and the engine feels smoother now. So far so good, hope it stays this way!

Nice test drive review !!! Even I am considering Access for my daily drive in Bangalore traffic . But, I heard that old access is still on sale and it has very good lowend pickup/torque and is cheaper as well. How about old access when compared to new one ? I think I can live without disc break and other add-on features of new model.

          Thanks

No man, try the new one. It's super light. Always under your control. This one also has power in low end. It has power evrywhere actually. Another thing I forgot is that how deceptively it accelerates. I overtook a bus and thought it was going at 30 kmph but then I saw the speedo and it was near 65 kmph. It's effortless and no sudden pull. So much fun. You pay extra for new design, engine and the whole new scooter platform. Let old be old, this is a charm.

Hero Maestro Edge or Suzuki Acess 125 drum brake version?

                Hi,

I've shortlisted Hero Maestro Edge VX variant and Suzuki Access 125 drum brake variant after some research.

The reason - Hero Maestro Edge VX seems to be a better proposition compared to the zx and million R editions of TVS Jupiter at the price it retails. Also, I have Honda Activa in my mind - trust me it never gets old, leave alone expecting anything new in it. Suzuki Access' base model is few thousands more.

The drum brake variant of Suzuki Access 125 costs Rs. 66, 866 in my city. The disc variant is close to 69,500 and with extended warranty and all it goes to 70, 500 rupees.

I am now in a fix as I'm trying to compare two different categories. 110 CC scooter or 125 cc scooter? Is it worth paying a little over 60 thousand rupees for the top end model of a 110 cc scooter when a 125 cc scooter's base model retails at three/ four thousand more?

I can see that mileage and engine specs are the main differentiators here. I am confused on what else I should look into. Is it the features list? build quality? alloy wheels over steel wheels? After sales service? no idea! too confusing.

I would love your guidance. I will be trying to get a long test ride of Hero Maestro Edge today. Please help me out here. I want to give this purchase just one shot and not regret it. Also mention how these tiny features make a difference in day to day life - like external fuel filler, USB charge, combined braking system etc..most importantly how is it riding a 110cc scooter vs 125 scooter DAILY - in terms of fuel consumption and how quick it is in traffic etc.

                Thanks!

                Srinath.

Hero maestro edge or Suzuki Access 2014

                  Hi friends,

In my hunt to buy a scooter for daily commutes, I've narrowed down to hero maestro edge and Suzuki Access 2014, both around the same price range - 62 thousand rupees.

Since the old access is now replaced by the new one, the nearest suzuki dealer is keen on selling off the stock. The dealer is giving all accessories free of cost along with the scooter.

Now my concern is whether its advisable to buy a scooter that is no longer in production just because it has a bigger engine, offers and ofc years of reputation and reliability.

Maestro edge on the other hand is a 110cc scooter with many features like pass light, boot light, alloy wheels, external fuel filling, digital meters, electronic safety lock and much more...

It is a nice scooter to ride but obviously lacks the pull that the access offers. It has 12 inch wheel in front and also integrated braking that works so well.

I'm going to keep the scooter for at least next 3 to 5 years. Should I be worried about service and spares of access 2014 which is no longer in production? Do these features on maestro edge come in handy everyday compared to what access offers? Should I consider mileage to make my choice?

I'll be purchasing my scoot in the first week of jan 2017. So a 2014 model becomes very old relatively.

                  Please help.

                  Thanks,

                  Srinath.
