Apache 200 or pulsar 200ns or Yamaha fz25

My riding will be daily city riding, occasional highway rides.

Main concerns will be stress free ownership and a little bit of milage 😅
For city riding both rtr and Fz25 are the better for highway NS is the best.
Most fuel efficient among these three is NS.

      If I ride in city?
Will I still able to get more fuel economy in pulsar than apache 200 or fz25?

Very tough to opt 1 from theses three.

Apache 200 and FZ25 are a step foreward than NS on parts quality department but NS is loaded with more features(am an ex NS owner).

FZ25 is presently new into the market and i can't comment anything about its performance but Yamahas are known for their quality and hands down.

Apache 200 is good for city rides but it misses out 6th gear for highway stretch. People are commenting about its good and smooth engine which sounds preety descent, TVS are good with their quality though.

And NS, well my heart still says NS is what one must opt with 1 lakh+ budget. It goes fast, accelerates fast, gives good FE, ownership is not heavy on pockets, engine is a bit noisey but is acceptable, vibrates but acceptable, brakes are descent, handles very good(watch Sebastian Herrara videos on youtube), seating is also good for your height.

Just get yourself a descent test ride of all the 3 and opt one which fits your mind and heart. Just maintain any motorcycle religiously and none m/c company is bad.

          Re: In a great dilemma.

I did test ride of pulsar 200ns
although clutch was light, but throw was a little longer,
I felt it needs a little more accelerator to get going from stand still than apache 200.

And my biggest concern is a stress free ownership, I don't want regular visits to mechanic.

As I travel a lot outside town, and my bike stays alone at my home for a week or two 😞

All of these are modern machines which will hardly make you a regular at the service centre, provided you treat them well and ride responsibly.

So just make up your mind and get a motorcycle which ticks the maximum number of boxes in your list.

              Thank you ALI. R

I had a royal enfield in the past
When it stays unused for 10-12 days. It gives me a really really hard time to start, self starter don't even work at this stage,
Only kick starter comes in handy.

None of as mentioned bikes has kick starter and it may stays unused as I am out of town.
Would they shows up the same way?

              And only last thing, please
Does pulsar 200 ns body panels rattle overtime? As many people says like this

My personal experience, my cousin's hand was fractured, so he couldn't use his bike for 2 months, for 2 long months it was standing idle on road.
Then I took it for 2 days 700km ride, Bangalore to Chikmangluru. Just washed it because it was dirty and checked it oil level. I did not face even a single issue. I had a wonderful trip.
The bike was pulsar 180. So with my experience I can say pulsar is reliable. And yes, I feel these days no bike gives any issues.

So, I should go for any bike regardless of fi or carb?

Pulsars are as reliable as any other.

Spares are too cheap to replace if needed.
Some spares of NS just cost 1/20 of other makers.

                      Re: In a great dilemma.

Kindly test ride the bikes before locking in for a decision.

I did test ride on both FZ25 and 200 ns back to back here in Chennai. I was much confident on the Japanese technology FZ25 that the bike will be butter smooth though the looks of it are not much different compared to FZS, but found that bike had vibrations post 6 RPM itself. The clutch was heavy in FZ25 but the pull was good in almost every gears. Suspension were good on speed breakers. The seating posture was comfortable.

200 ns is definitely and undoubtedly the best VFM motorcycle. The bike was more in sync with me in handling. The gears slipped between 1 to N when I shifted them in half clutch. The pulsar roar was more pleasing to my ears. There were vibrations but not as much as I felt in FZ25 Both front and rear breaks were not hard in the bite. Suspension was good on small pot holes.
And finally I booked the 2017 200 ns RED. It will be delivered with in 10 days they said.

As an owner of Pulsar RS200, I would definitely not suggest you buy this bike for city use if it involves more than 15km one way. It is torturous in city traffic as the bike engine gets heated up like a furnace and the radiator fan starts to kick in and blow hot air on to your legs. You feel like just leaving the bike and going in a bus. I would suggest you buy a bike with relaxed engine like FZ25. I heard the gears are hard and clutch is little heavy, but progressively the gearing will smoothen out. Don't know if the clutch improves though. Compared to FZ25 the NVH levels are high in RTR200.
