BMW G310R India launch has been delayed. The company will focus on exports first. Here is now on display at the 2017 Bangkok Motor Show.

On a completely OT, no offense mate and please don't take me wrong before I ask, why spend 2 to 2.5 lakhs on a bike that's going to be used mainly for commuting and occasional touring? I personally feel there are bikes such as FZ25, RTR200, Dominar, and CBR250 are not only well below your budget but also will excellently serve your purpose.

    Cheers!
Is FZ25 or Duke 250 capable of handling peak hour traffic engine heat for more than an hour??

No offense taken mate. I used to own an Apache 180, so looking for an upgrade. The budget mentioned is an upper limit. So FZ25 CBR and Dominar are on the radar.

Hey mate, saw your original thread as well. I don't have any data to comment on Duke 250's capability. One of my acquaintances has got FZ25 and he rides it daily to and fro his office. There's no heat as per his words but on a lighter note, we Chennaites have a totally different level of tolerance towards heat.

Just a few questions for you, sorry for spamming this thread, are you sure that the heat from your RS200 was that unbearable, did you make sure that nothing was wrong with your bike's engine, and did you get a chance to try any other RS200 for a brief amount of time in traffic?

        Cheers!

Hi GandalfTheGrey, I have raised the heating issue with the service mechanics during regular service. However, the mechanics say everything seems to be fine with my bike. Its only because of peak traffic, full fairing and 1.5+ hours of commute time, the issue aggrevates and causes unbearable heat wave from radiator fan.

Hence, I am looking out for more torqy engine and better heat handling capablity bike for my need. This thread closely relates to my needs and helping me to bottom down and filter the options. That is why I am concerned about considering FZ25, which is only oil cooled and KTM Duke 250, which again comes from a family of high compression engine design. These are the only two bikes which actually are better than my present bike and seems to be more reliable too!

Are the vibrations under control with Dominar?
It was just a malfunction of oil level sensor. Just turning off ignition and turning it back on did the trick to him. And with a bundle of sensors something always goes wrong for the first batch. If you can wait, I'd suggest you to buy next batch since they might get an ECU update.

            D250 might but FZ250 can.

RS 400 is on it's way now if you are interested in bikes with fairings.

The options I am actively considering in order of my liking are: CBR 250, Duke 390, Dominar, FZ25 and then maybe TB/Classic 500. I have ridden the Classic 500 and I like the feel, but hesitant because of reliability. I like the CBR's reliability, engine smoothness and ergonomics. It's been hard to get a TD of FZ25, Duke 390 and Dominar.

FZ250 won't heat as much as the Duke 250 is what I mean.

Nice choices there mate. Yeah REs have a different feel to them and no doubt about that but I wish they were more reliable.

Yeah it's difficult to lay hands on the FZ25 yet, in Chennai at least. I tried the FZ in the Yamaha showroom in Pallikaranai, may be you can try there if you haven't.

Dominar can be tried in Adyar showroom but it's mostly crowded.

In Chennai, KTMs don't have TD vehicles of all of their products in every showroom so it's better to call the showroom before going. Mostly the Camp road showroom(above Bajaj) will have bikes for TD.

                    Cheers!

Checked with the camp Road showroom (Khivraj). They neither have Dominar or Duke 390 for TD. Only Mount Road Showrooms have it seems.

My search continues....CBR 250, no news of the new/BS IV model. Bullet Std 500 has been updated as FI, but dealers have no clue - they say they are hearing for the first time from me. No Duke 390 for TD. Have eliminated Dominar provisionally and Will be trying to TD the FZ 25 today

Bullet 500 FI is not yet hit the showrooms, the news is only in the automobile sites.

Rode the FZ 25 today. Ergonomics great! Torque great, breaking decent. Slight vibrations at 4000-4500 rpm.

I felt the same thing but for the price it is offered, it is a very good value for money bike.
