Re: R1 or R6. what will you recommend?
Only supersports? The street triple 765 rs is the nakedish bike for the track, it's heaps of fun in the road n track. And yes ducati is expensive and not the most reliable, if your looking at the r1, what about the gsxr1000, CBR 1000rr,zx10r(most common), etc or is that you only prefer Yamaha in this category?Originally posted by riot View Post

My heart too goes for R6 however I am worried that I may start missing R1s power. Once I buy one, I will keepOriginally posted by The Monk View PostOne thing i wanted to add about spares etc.
If you crash a superbike which is currently sold in India, you still need to wait for a month or more to get the parts shipped from abroad. Most of these companies do not stock the parts. So having a motorcycle which is being sold in India isn't an advantage in this regard.
You will take the same amount of time to get parts for the R6, in the unfortunate circumstance of a crash. You will of course need to import it, directly or through some of the workshops which work on superbikes.
For regular wear and tear parts, you need to be a little more careful. You need to know your motorcycle inside out. You need to order those parts in advance before you actually require them. A chain and sprocket set might be available off the shelf for bikes sold in India, you will need to be a little more careful with the R6 so that you don't have to park the bike up for a month waiting for parts to arrive.
With a little bit of extra TLC, i think you will find owning the R6 quite rewarding.
My vote therefore goes for the R6
If the rider doesn't have the skills to ride, then it is mostly the liter class bike riding the rider, instead of the other way around!

yes, only supersport for now. I have owned too many nakeds and now finally want a full faired bike for a change. All Honda, Suzuki and Kawsakis so far been out of budget , bad condition or Grey. The R1 I have in sight is owned by a friend and is maintained excellently, has clean papers and no accident history. Same with the R6.Street racing is for Squids trying to make up for their small equipment

The new fireblade is supposed to be the cheapest litre offering in our marker, and the 2017 model is packed with soo many goodies and it won mcn 1000cc shootout due to its easy usability and linear power , I think it's 18L ex showroom if I'm not wrong.Originally posted by riot View PostMy heart too goes for R6 however I am worried that I may start missing R1s power. Lol. You are asking me to spend more than twice my budget bro. If I had that budget I would have closed my eyes and got a 2017 Busa. It is one of the most practical bikes to own, is not expensive for maintain and has oodles and oodles of power. For 12L here I have a offer for 800kms run Zx10R too. However, I dont want to take any loan and want to strictly remain in my budget.
R1 is 2007 Black color however R6 is not black bro. However, it is one rare color. I will pick one up on or before 6th July and will post a detailed log for sureOriginally posted by Shivanshu View PostGo for R6 and after 2yrs when you are done with it look for R1. Re: R1 or R6. what will you recommend?
R1 AND R6 HUH! TWIN BEAST BROTHERS
see as you are saying that if you buy R6 you might feel that you may start missing R1 power( IN INDIA!!!!!!)
IF YOU BUY R1 you will love its power but what you will be doing is tying the beast to many chains(given the traffic) unless you are a mad Biker who rips through the roads at insane speed.
If you buy R6 you won't tie the beast to many chains as in case of R1.
What I am saying is you won't feel the difference unless u reach the topend. Check below video
You cannot ride like this in India, no traffic rules are followed and Walking pedestrians in middle of road.
What I am saying is get the R6 given its first hand(you will be second) while in R1 you will be 3rd. (r1-two different riders & style; r6 - you will be second so you will feel that difference ).
It's up to you. Think wisely (very very) and buy.
