    Touring Bike for me and my wife within 1.6L

    Hello!

    Im looking for a bike which is comfortable for touring long distance (500KM) with a pillion.

    I currently own a RS200 and it is not comfortable for long distance rides. Specially considering road conditions, it gives bad backache sometimes. Also, maintenance is very high for this bike.

    1. Budget: 1.6 Lacs
    2. Age: 27
    3. Height: 6.00
    4. Weight: 75
    5. Intended usage (eg. Office/College commute, Highway runs, Racetrack usage, Weekend recreation riding etc.): Weekend rides(200KM) and long rides(total 1000KM) once in a while
    6. Fuel Efficiency requirement (approx., if any): N/A
    7. City & Highway percentage usage - 20/80
    8. Approximate Daily / Monthly running - 500~1000km
    9. City / Town /Village of residence (so we can evaluate road conditions / traffic / terrain / altitude / OTR pricing): Dombivli, Mumbai
    10. Brand / Bike type preference (if any): Any

    Im eyeing at Dominar but still looking if there are any cons to it for my requirements or if I can find a better bike for my requirements. Let me know!

    If you can, then rent out both the FZ25 and the Dominar and go for a day long ride with your wife. See which you prefer and find more comfortable.
    Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

      You can have a look at the FZ25 as it has enough power to see you through middle distance tours. Also, the engine is smooth and reliable. Perfect bang for the buck!

        Thank you both for your responses. Im highly considering FZ25 and TVS Apache RTR 200. I have removed Dominar from my consideration list since I remembers horrors of multiple servicing experiences I had to go through for the RS200.

        I also checked pre-owned market and have seen 2014 Duke for 1Lac - 14k running. Is it worth to go with such bikes?

          Duke will surely not be comfortable for a pillion!

            If you are thinking about touring, don't consider the Duke. instead, look out for a second hand CBR250R with ABS. It will be a perfect tourer and will be comfortable for the pillion!!

              I too think Duke will not be a good choice. In my opinion RE Thunderbird, Bajaj Dominar and Honda CBR 250 are the best bikes for you.

              But always test drive the bikes before deciding.

                Guys thank you for your valuable opinions!

                Unfortunately, today I have bought a pre-owned Duke 250 - comfortable seat and better sitting position than my old bike. I went with Duke 250 because of the deal i got.

                Its 4 months old 2800km running duke 250 for 1.4 lacs. I know it's not the absolute finest in touring, but I couldn't let pass this amazing deal.
