Wait for cbr 250... After that decide... If it's a good package then you can surely buy Honda... Especially if it comes with twin cylinder... Other than fz25 is very good motorcycle...

I am also waiting for this, but not sure if/when Honda would bring to to India. If they make it available in twin-cylinder. OTR would be 3.5 to 4L.

As for the OP's question -

        1. If you can, wait for 3-4 months to see if Honda launches CBR 250.
        2. Among other options, FZ 25 is a safe bet (except headlights) - as it offer good combination of power/performance and practical riding in city.

Gixer belongs to different segment, more of economy performer 150 CC segment and it is a good choice in its segment (I'd rate Hornet as the best option in that segment). Cannot be compared with others you have listed here.

Bikes accelerate quicker than cars, so i feel the gixxer SF with ABS is the best option for you. It's got decent acceleration, and would be able to overtake traffic easily.

ABS will help newer riders immensely in case of emergency braking.

Yamaha FZ25 would be the next bike I recommend for comfort, however the power of the 250cc engine can be fully utilised only in the highways.

The Duke and RC bikes are not known for comfort, but are absolutely amazing machines to have fun on. They are lightweight and can turn on a dime.

No offence but I would suggest you to get a nice sparingly used bike till you get a hang of riding bikes especially in city conditions, then later on you can get your desired new bike.
I feel the KTM's will be a handful for an absolute newbie.

              Thanks fellow FM's

Going by above suggestions ,it seems it will be wiser for me to go for ,

              GIXXER,
              Yam : Fz15 or Fz25

              KTM's a no no

              Correct

              ALSO,
Graduated from kinetic Honda scooter directly to cars
Never driven a bike so how do I TD prospective ones

fz25 - that's your best bet, max the gixxer abs. ABS is not required for the 40s speeds that one goes around in the city if you know how to brake properly & you maintain your brakes in good condition, just my 2 paisa..

KTM can be a handful, the duke 200 is good if you ease up on the throttle.. but vibrations might make you not-comfortable.

but for city, anything more than 15-20 bhp, pointless, it's good to have the power, fun for the short while, but your brakes will be crying for quick pads replacement.

by your age, I'll not recommend the RC, I know people who ride them, but they hit the gym & are fit, the RC demands physical fitness.. I own one.. I'm not that old also..

FZ25 is the perfect combo IMHO for balance of power & comfort. gixxer - no comments, people say it's good, so it must be good.

If you absolutely want a faired machine, gixxer SF is your only option. you can take a look at the apache if ABS is what you need..

live long.. live happy.. that's the best revenge that can be served to the people who hate you..

I have reduced my budget cause my usage will be restricted to approx 5 months in a year .

Then Vespa is a good option... It's like the bmw of scooter world...
I own one since last 4 years when the first 125lx model came up without disc brakes and tubeless tires... It's a hoot ride .. very good machine.... Also useful for family members... But maintenance is little high compared to Honda scooters....
                          But excellence requires investment....
