Sorry to be a spoilsport but here is a titbit about RTR 200, it’s an awesome bike no doubt but Tvs remora Tyres are a big no especially you are graduating from a scooter after almost many years and without a ABS you are bound to be little heavy on the brakes. Try to get the Pirelli which is just a 5k extra if I m not wrong and gives that extra grip you need, otherwise the remoras are super skiddish especially if you find yourself at an emergency braking situation.

I'm 40, and a couple of years ago I bought a Gixxer on which I learnt. The first lesson I had was given by the delivery person. It's a great bike, a lot of fun to ride, and pretty comfortable for a solo rider and a good one to learn on.

But, last year, when I took the bike on a 3000+ km cross country trip, I really felt the need for abs and more power.
I'd advise you to get the most powerful bike you can, as long as it has abs. Coming from driving a car for 20+ years, the acceleration of a bike is breathtaking, but the Gixxer maxes out at 110, and that's not a speed it can do all day. We usually drive our cars at over 120kmph on the highway, and a small bike really feels underpowered on those long open roads.
Wait a bit longer for the abs model to get released and get the tvs, or wait for yamaha to release an abs model of the 250.
What you do on the bike will depend on the bike you get.

I do not intend to take the bike outside the city .
            So is ABS very imp?

While ABS is a good thing for sure but it is not a deal-breaker. For city usage, Hornet and FZ-25 both are good options.

Friends as I have mentioned earlier my budget is 1.5

                My shortlist r the
                TVS APACHE RTR 200 (107000/-)
                Yamaha fz25 (138000/-)
                In that order

On the net many reviews have mentioned the APACHE is a sweet handler

ALSO I found with that oddles of torque at low revs the fz25 is sort of jerky

                    Congrats on your selection.
The presence of a kick starter in a FI bike is almost comparable to appendix in the human body - redundant. The models with only self-start option have such good electronics that you'll hardly feel the need for kick start! The kick start sends fuel through the combustion chamber of a carb bike till enough pressure difference is created to start the bike - this part is taken care of by the fuel pump in a FI bike. Should not be a problem if you maintain enough charge in the battery.

Friends ,delaying my buying , now that ns200 is out with single.channel ABS, others might follow suit , especially fz25 and RTR 200.

Forget about Yamaha adding ABS to the FZ25 / Fazer 25 anytime before same time next year.

TVS might get that.... but question is when... The waiting game is never ending. Best bet would be to get something that fulfills all your needs and is available now.
Honestly you wouldnt feel the need for ABS in RTR 200 (or any 200cc bike).
