Re: Tourer+Commuter around 5 lacs
Query Approved
Your query is rather too vague for anyone to be able to advise.
Could you please give more information about your requirements:
1. Budget
2. Age
3. Height
4. Weight
5. Intended usage (eg. Office/College commute, Highway runs, Racetrack usage, Weekend recreation riding etc.)
6. Fuel Efficiency requirement (approx., if any)
7. City & Highway percentage usage
8. Approximate Daily / Monthly running
9. City / Town /Village of residence (so we can evaluate road conditions / traffic / terrain / altitude / OTR pricing)
10. Brand / Bike type preference (if any)
The above list is not exhaustive. Feel free to add more relevant details so that we can help you shortlist better.Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!
Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

Budget is around 5 lacs( can be stretched a bit)

Re: Tourer+Commuter around 5 lacs
1) Kawasaki Z650 around 6 lacs on road(may not be great for touring as it's a naked bike).
2) Kawasaki Ninja 650 around 6.5 lacs on road.
If both are overshooting your budget you can wait for ninja 400 or YZF R3.Last edited by faiz0210; 11-15-2017, 06:22 AM.

Re: Tourer+Commuter around 5 lacs
If your desire to buy is now, then go for the Ninja 300. You will need to keep some spare money to buy accessories and gear. I have my doubts that Ninja 400, whenever it makes to our shores, will be under 5 lacs as the N300 costs around 4.5 lacs presently.Ride To Live

FAIZ can i use a longer windscreen in z650 for touring?how is the riding position? how is the mileage and how is it overall ?
Lastly what'll be the mileage difference between kawasaki and r3
AKSHAY no i am not in a hurry for a bike right now, i can wait and i want to focus on a good bike not so much on accessories right now, i can buy it later over a span of time.

Re: Tourer+Commuter around 5 lacs
You can definitely try the new z650. Its worth every penny. Engine is super smooth, looks very good, parts does not feels cheap, lighter and smaller then the er6n, it just ticks every box.Originally posted by Shreydor View PostHi i have been riding for over 10 years and consider myself a pretty experienced rider. I rode the bike continuously for a month in heavy bangalore traffic between banashankari and Whitefield to and fro everyday and I must say the bike doesn't heat up like duke 390, doesn't have any jerky movements doesn't feel very bulky and heavy like the benelli 600i Of course if you compare it to duke 200 or an activa it will be heavy, and seating position is very comfortable for me, my height is 5 feet 10 inches.
And about highway rides its superb on hiways and on long rides.. And if windblasts are your concern then you can always go for an aftermarket windscreen..

Hows the mileage and will an aftermarket windscreen actually work for touring? Heard z650's ground clearance is not upto the mark?Originally posted by randhish View PostYou can definitely try the new z650. Its worth every penny. Re: Tourer+Commuter around 5 lacs
In city you will be getting in between 18-25 based on your rinding style. And after Kawasaki got seperated from bajaj its a little difficult service wise but if you live in cities like bangalore delhi or pune then there is no problem.. And about ground Clarence its having 135 mm ground clarence and its good enough for city and highways.. I never scraped my underbelly exhaust in the bumps. If you are an offroading enthusiast then go for the versys 650.

Re: Tourer+Commuter around 5 lacs
If you are looking touring capabilities then versys 650 is the right choice for you but it has its own negatives such as lack of spare parts over the shelf. Service center location. Mileage is around 20 to 24 on highway.
OTR is around 7.5 lac, overshooting the budget by 2.5 lac.
Z650 is a great bike and at 5.7 OTR is a value proposition but again above mentioned issues and low ground clearance of 130mm would be an issue.
Wait for Auto expo 2018 and you might see TRK 502 in that price bracket.
Versys 300 is an underpowered machine with a higj price tag

You may also go for Versys-x 300. This should be under your budget with good touring capability.
