Re: Need to finalize: Daily ride + tourer around 2L
Sorry to butt in, but mojo lacks the high torque at low rpm. From my experience, it is hard to use in the city (though you can get used to it like many owners who use it in the city) due to its taller gearing and relatively high handlebars. Also it's quite heavy.Originally posted by Sahil Goel View PostWhat are your thoughts on mahindra mojo?
It's a specialist touring machine which can do 120-130kmph all day long while giving you a good range on a tankful.
You can try out the Mojo UT300 though, maybe there are some changes which will help for city rides.Last edited by Shashank K R; 03-25-2018, 01:51 PM.

I personally won't consider a Mahindra two-wheeler, not sure about their sales and service at all in my city now but we have suffered a lot with Flyte earlier.Originally posted by Sahil Goel View PostWhat are your thoughts on mahindra mojo?

I took few test rides today -
- Dominar - This was my second ride Did not like handling if this bike at all. It makes its weight felt, turning radius is larger and somehow I am not comfortable riding this bike. Matte black looks great, but didn't like golden alloys at all. Older ones were much better. Anyway. I am not considering this bike anymore.
- RTR 200 - ABS not yet available, waiting of 1.5 months for ABS. I took test ride of carb model there. Nothing great, handling is average. Better looking as compared to FZ25 (subjective) but not exciting.
- FZ 25 - All my criticism withstanding about Yamaha's cost-cutting, the handling and refinement is super. Engine is smooth, though I couldn't really experience low-end torque much in my short ride, I felt most at-home on this bike coming from Unicorn. Light and nimble handler. Wife found pillion acceptable as well, in fact slightly lower and flatter as compared to RTR 200. If nothing else works out, I might settle for this one.
I'll check with another Honda showroom here to see if they have any information on the new CBR250. Though that one is not exiting either....
I currently own yellow yamaha r15 v1 2009 (80000 clocked engine is still pretty smooth)
Reasons to switch :
1) r15 is damn uncomfortable .
2) poor headlight
3) suspension is also on stiffer side.
My priority is comfort : any bike which could do 100 kph
can be easily choosen for touring as an option.
Confused between these options:
Dominor pros(headlight,power,can handle bad roads)cons(bajaj)
Intruder 150 fi version pros( my wife loves it
,low end torque is pretty gud...gixxee engine, includes ABS,suspension is Awesome plush , mileage)cons (150cc engine, cant have much expectations).
Yamaha fz25 pros(yamaha,low end torque)cons(weak headlight,suspension felt stiff)
Bajaj avenger 220 - didnt even think to write it off as it feels out dated. Great value for money though
Intruder 150 fi i narrowed down to it ,coz comforts comes first, headlight illumination,Abs,lacks on power but suzuki engine is just so happy revving...no vibes at all.....cant compare it to yamaha r15 as it is in different league.
So i am giving up power in terms of comfort.i hope in future if suzuki puts 250cc engine in this bike it would be mind blowing.
Hope it helpsLast edited by pulkit kumar singh; 03-28-2018, 03:23 PM.

Comfort is my top priority for both rider and pillion. In dilemma between Dominar and Intruder. 'Bajaj' tag (reliability) is keeping me away from Dominar and Intruder's looks are not pleasant to me. Not happy with FZ25 because of its riding position and absence of ABS.
I am curious why you did not include CBR 250R in your list.

Re: Need to finalize: Daily ride + tourer around 2L
I have not included it coz in front of dominor it feels like way to costly .......and out dated.....and major issue is the low end torque. But i will take the test ride of CBR250R and will be then sure of it...have to check on pillion comfort too.
I am thinking of waiting till 2019 April as my r15 is still going good....and i am not fully satisfied with the intruder performance on highway.plus i took the test ride today only once again and was not happy with the ABS (too much skidding under hard breaking).....breaks not good...as i am comparing breaking with r15 you know what i mean.
ABS will be mandatory after 2019 April ...and we can expect lots of new models coming up.
I am going test ride all the motorcycles from 1.2 to 2 lac..then will see which satisfies the most....!

manishh After a year when you get bored of it, you will regret not buying an r3. That's when you must remind yourself that money saved is money earned. Will you be keeping the Unicorn?

Re: Need to finalize: Daily ride + tourer around 2L
Nope, no regrets. I have my own apprehensions about faired bikes, and after some consideration I decided to give R3 a pass. Selling off my 10 year old Unicorn that still runs smoothly since FZ25 seems to a capable & practical urban bike.Last edited by manishh; 04-03-2018, 01:41 PM.

Re: Need to finalize: Daily ride + tourer around 2L
Congrats on the selection. I have been following this thread for quite sometime now. I am also in the market for a new ride with the same requirements as yours. My order of choice is below,Originally posted by manishh View PostUpdate
I picked up FZ25 finally.
Cbr250 - yeah its outdated or atleast in the recent future. But we own FIAT(if you know wat I mean [emoji6]) and it never disappoints. 60 days waiting though.
Apache 310 - After seeing the bike in flesh today, I am in love with the looks. 90 days waiting is the only thing that makes me to look at other options.
Duke 390 - electronic issues and some more issues mentioned in other threads preventing me but still in game due to the availability for immediate delivery.
FZ25 - No ABS, No sixth gear.
Dominar - no feel good factor(for me).

Re: Need to finalize: Daily ride + tourer around 2L
I gave up on CBR when I learned that it is not arriving this week as I was told by Honda earlier, besides I know Honda is always low on latest equipment, but not having even 2 trip meters on 2L+ bike was a rude shock and I finally decided to give up on CBR 250. The BS-IV engine is not proven either.
Apache 310 is drool-worthy indeed, beautiful to look at and I also fell in love with it, however that's not my preference and hence kept away. I had even contemplated R3 briefly - awesome machine, but not very practical for me.
