Re: First bike- beginner
I have the gixxer in my garage for some time now and the bike has been very comfortable and fuel efficient. It is a nimble machine and offers very good grip and handling. It loves corners.Originally posted by San1234 View PostBoth the models that I have shortlisted does not have ABS( Gixxer naked and RTR 160)
I am also looking to add the Apache 160 4V to my garage soon, may be by June end. It will be awesome to have the two best machines in the segment at my disposal. [emoji16]

Re: First bike- beginner
RTR160 4V received a major set of updates compared to the previous generation. The RTR180 is still on its previous generation. ALso the 160 actually performs better than 180.Originally posted by gan View PostThanks for correcting.
Why does it cost as much as RTR 180
Given the situation I believe, TVS will completely phase out the RTR 180 model and just keep 160 and 200.
Now coming to comparison with the Gixxer. On paper RTR160 seems to be better than the Gixxer in all aspects BUT if you watch comparison videos on Youtube, the reviewers say otherwise.
Ultimately it comes down to personal preference. If you wanna purchase any of these 2 bikes, take a Good Test ride of both of them. For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

Re: First bike- beginner
Thank you for your detailed answer. I did take a test drive of both the bikes but I'm not experienced enough to assess the performance of the bikes. I found both the bikes to be comfortable for my height.Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View PostRTR160 4V received a major set of updates compared to the previous generation. Re: First bike- beginner
Hi,
Going by the comments and suggestions already posted I would like to add by saying, you can't go wrong in this segment.
It all boils down to which brand has an ease of service and better customer support in your area. Check who has good reviews and go with them.
Personally we own a Gixxer since Jan 2017. My brother's office commuter. Covered around 13,750 kms as of typing this. Finished the 5th service which is cheap. It still rides and feels like new. It's underlying character is, Sharp Riding Dynamics with Stiff Suspension to give a thrilling ride while commuting.
We previously owned the Duke 200, and I can confidently say that Gixxer has superior handling than Duke 200. The more you ride the Gixxer the more confident you become while attacking corners. The SF version has done many touring duties too going by some xbhp threads.
Now the new Apache 160 looks better than the 200 in my opinion and also has a novelty factor. But please keep in mind it will definitely be more soft handling wise. Because TVS slightly compromise on handling to give superb ride quality for our roads. Taking bumps and potholes easily, TVS does the best suspension tuning.
The new fresh looking Apache 160 might be the better everyday motorcycle if you don't require razor sharp handling like Gixxer.
So choose what character you like and start honing your riding skills.
Cheers!
