Thanks mate for understanding my emotions. But there is nothing so emotional about it. That was just fun stuff. I have moved forward from that thing quite well.

Yeah apache definitely looks promising I just doubt a bit if it could satisfy my touring needs cruising at 100 entire day. And if it will serve me as well as we expect a Japanese to do. I have ridden apache just once for a while and that ride was just not enough to decide. I wish they bring rtr 450 someday. That is just the right kind of bike I wish for. I would even sell my kidney for that.. [emoji23]

Dominar is just out of my reach. First I have to spend a lot more for it. Second I have to spend even more to ride and maintain it. Third it is too heavy for me.

Seems like the entire nation wants to know and have to be discussed in lok sabha which is a better bike for touring fz 25 or rtr 200?

That's the thing, I am confused between RTR and Dominar.
FZ25 is out of my list cause of no ABS.
Dominar will be heavy economically and physically, both.
RTR can do 100-120 on the highway with ease, but 80-100kmph is what its best suited for. Just the availability factor is a letdown. V2.0 ABS version isn't available yet.

I would suggest that either wait till April 2019 for the new regulations to kick in or get the RTR. In my opinion it's better to be shielded, hence ABS. You never know when someone/something decides to pay you a visit on the road out of nowhere. It would be better to rock with ABS, than be shocked without it.

I think RTR is reliable enough, as per the ownership thread and reviews on YouTube, I didn't find any critical issues cropping up, other than minor issues like gear position indicator error and other sensor related issues. Nothing with the engine yet. Fit and finish is good, just the front brake could have been better, feels spongy to me. And you'd get 35+ on the highway if you keep it under 100 mark.

Hi,

It's simple, buying immediately and if ABS is needed, go for TVS Apache 200 ABS. Check if in your area they get the new 2018 Race Edition with Slipper Clutch too. If they offer you can get that one too.

If planning to wait and need Yamaha with ABS, get FZ25 same time next year.

But if you don't need ABS just go right ahead with FZ25. The newer 2018 versions seems to have very less tappet noise, also many have reported when used Motul 7100 oils the tappet noise has gone and vibes reduced to negligible levels.

The Only Bajaj you must get right now is Dominar if you want to, don't even think about other models from them.

Yeah of course ABS is our safety net. But fi is kinda important for me as well. And I can't understand why the hell TVS can't offer both on same machine..
FZ25 with ABS will have atleast 25k hike if launched. I know I can save for that but the craving is getting stronger.

Then look at Gixxer SF with ABS. You get single channel ABS and FI.
For RTR, both ABS and FI will shoot the price around 1.40 lakh on road. Doesn't seem sensible to pay that much for 200cc bike.

Yes that's one fumbling TVS has done.. But from own Xbhp threads, the Apache 200 carb version is the one to go for. FI seems slightly neutered in power delivery even though it has .5ps more power in spec sheet. Carb has more grunt lower down comparatively it seems.

If pillion seat is not much a priority, like he already suggested the Gixxer SF FI ABS is a sweet deal too. Suzuki has a good FI system in place where you get crisp and slight better performance than carb version, but improves the fuel economy too nicely it seems.

I think 1.4 lakh on road should be fine as we are already paying that amount for fz25 that too without ABS. If fz comes with ABS it will be around 1.6 otr.
Gixxer SF is very good motorcycle and it retails around 1.08 otr with fi and single channel ABS. But I am looking for a slightly better power and torque so I could cruise without straining the engine.
One of the reason FI is more of my concern because of the setting carbs require for high altitude. If it is not set properly kind of ruin the fun of riding. I had seen instances where road side mechanics ruin the settings even more.

In that case, you have left yourself only two choices my friend.
Either go with the Dominar or wait till April 2019.

There's no other bike in the country that gives you ABS, FI and comes within a price bracket of 1.5 lacs.

It's not that you will be going to the hills only all of the time. Whenever you go, adjust the carb towards a richer mixture. Learn it to do yourself from a local mechanic. Will always come handy.
You are your best judge. Decide it for yourself.

Like, as of now, I've decided to either get the RTR ABS or wait till April 2019. Whichever comes earlier.

In my opinion, there's no better option than Dominar in the Indian market for touring at 1.8 lacs OTR.
One hell of a performer.
Get the knobby tyres and you're good to go for some off-roading.

Yeah it is best not to touch card unless you know to tune it well..
Now apache 200 abs seems making sense. Savings from not buying fz 25 can be invested in riding gears. Is ABS switchable in rtr 200?

No, it can't be switched off.

Yes it can't be switched off with switch.

But if you really need to switch off the ABS for some serious terrain(muddy off road), you can temporarily turn off the ABS, by simply removing the ABS fuse.

I visited TVS showroom in my area. The sales advisor quoted me 1.32 lakh on road for Apache 2.0 ABS and delivery within 20 days.
But when I turned to negotiations he took me to sales manager where he completely declined to deliver Apache 200 in ABS not even in non race spec.
He said company is not doing production for the ABS model. He was ready to deliver any model else than ABS. When I asked any speculation about ABS model? He said he can't assure me anything.
