The BMW G310R does seem to tick all your boxes. However, I doubt they would arrive at dealerships before July. You might also have to wait for delivery. Logistically, August seems to be when you'll be able to see the BMWs on the road.

It also is a gorgeous machine. They have released it in other Asian markets around a year ago and the reviews all seem to be fairly positive.

The CBR250R is still an option.

The G310 cousins are on the top of my list. The problem might be in the pricing. The BMW Motorrad dealership guys expect a price range of 3-4 lakh for the two 310's with the G310R being closer to 3 lakh and the G310GS being being close to 4. While I do not mind paying a premium for the BMW badge, but a 3 lakh asking price is way too much for the G310R. It would even be costlier than the Duke 390! The GS310 feels more attractive to me, I sincerely hope that BMW prices them competitively and does not go the Ninja 400 way.

I hate to admit it but the 7 year old CBR250R is a formidable option. It's refined, reliable and will be easier and cheaper to maintain than all the other options. There is actually a Honda service centre within walking distance from my house. The CBR250R meets all my parameters except handling due to its soft front suspension and poor stock Contigo tyres. But I'm told that using a thicker fork oil and Michelin tyres make the Honda delightful around corners too. This bike is my last resort, in case nothing works out. If only Honda had upgraded it to the CBR300R, which it incidentally has done in 2015 for all markets except ours, this thread would be redundant.

Curious to know your reasons for keeping the Ninja 250, which many would consider to be an 'obsolete' motorcycle. Because my list also includes another 'obsolete' motorcycle, the CBR250R!

I dont find the new bikes looking as sturdy as the Ninja 250 (My Opinion) and i find the engine is super smooth and super sweet at higher RPMs! I was thinking of selling the Ninja 250 after I bought me a Ninja 650! But my heart stopped me from doing the same! This bike is a screamer and sounds too beautiful! Even now it catches eyes and turns head! The bike still shines though it is 8 years old!!

Take a guess how the below pic of the Lime Green Ninja 250 was clicked

Not sure if you guessed it but it was clicked from the reflection off of my Black Ninja 250’s fuel tank!!

I also find this bike too good to be real! Yes, it probably is obsolete and the analog speedo console looks too plain and simple! But I love the bike for its speedo console! The love to see the Speedo stop when i shift gear and then the needle climb up higher when i give throttle makes it beautiful to my eyes

If there is any bike that grabs the heart like the first kiss or first childhood love, it is a Ninja 250.
They've given us 300 and 400 now but there's something so awesome about a Ninja 250R.
If only Kawasaki had good after sales support and parts availability wasn't a problem, I would have taken the Ninja 250R right now.
There are some good options on OLX though in Pune area.

Exact same feeling! First time i sat on Ninja 250 in 2011, my heart was all over it! I was about to book Ninja 300 before the owner of this beautiful bike sent me the pics on whatsapp after making me wait for almost a week!!

I havent faced any problems with basic parts availability! There are people who can help source spare parts in case you need it! I can get you the contact number if you can pm me your whatsapp number!!

Re: Upgrade to my Suzuki Gixxer.

Looks like someone from Yamaha has been reading this thread. I got a call from a couple of Yamaha dealers who will be providing a proper test ride of the new R3 with the Metzelers and ABS by the end of this month. Fingers crossed.
