Apparently you are yet to experience the smoothness of 1 of the yamha engines. IMHO do get a drive on fz / fzs the fuel injected ones.

Well, Honda is no longer the benchmark for smoothness now. I find both FZ & RTR160 4V to be smoother than the Hornet. Have own both yamaha(Gladiator & R3) and Honda(Shine & CBR250) in the past. But No one beats Honda in milege.
Stick to the Shine- extremely reliable and fuel efficient.

I own 2018 hornet, and i can say that fz fi is way smoother than hornet. I have ridden both fz carb and fi and both are super smooth than honda

Honda Shine is really good performance, fuel efficiency, reliable & Comfort - all in one. Congrats on making a good call.

I myself am driving 2008 Shine.

The changes they have made over the years are mostly cosmetic or minor in nature.
