    What Bike: For a Student

    hello friends finally my results are out and now i'm all out to by my first bike,have been planning to do this since a long long really very long period.my 60 cc scooty has driven me nuts and finally my parents have given a nod.though i have been trying to finalize a bike for the past few months but my confusion has just increased.
    my choices:
    apache rtr rd
    pulsar 180 dtsi UGIV
    avenger

    the otr price of all these bikes lie close within a range from 70 to 74k

    my needs:
    basically a student
    looks
    performance
    mileage
    less maintance
    please help me out!!

        College going guy?

        The RTR or the P180 UG4.

        Have a Test ride and decide.
        When everything comes ur way, u r in the wrong way ;)

          from your given needs
          performance - RTR and P180 are both equally good ,avenger is a little slow .
          Comfort - avenger would be best
          Mileage -RTR is best then P180 and then Avy 200
          Looks- beauty is in the eye of the beholder
          maintenence wise all of them dont require anything special

          I would say take a test ride of both pulsar and RTR and see which is the one for you

            if you can wait for few more days then u can check out the apache 180 too..

              I would go for the RTR as its breaking is damn good 180 cannot match the rtr in this front.If your budget permits i would strongly urge you to consider RTR 180 its one killer bike .Whatever bike you buy ride safe bro.

                take a look at the yam fz-16 and the suzuki gs 150r...
                the yam and suzuki has every thing and would top in the maintanence and relayability catogory above others...
                and remember the samurai add(no problem),if that is the case go for the unicorn...

                if u ask me,(on a scale of 100,55 kmpl being the 100% milage)
                pulsar 180 - 80%performance,70%milage..
                apache rd/fi - 85% per,90% milage..
                apache 180 - 90% per,70~80% milage(estimated)
                yam fz16 - 75% per,75% milage..
                suz gs 150 - 80% per,100%milage...
                uni - 80% per,100% milage...
                and the hh's (hunk/cbz) - 78% per,95% milage..

                these r the bikes i know and have used for some time atleast...

                but consider the long term relayability and the refinement catogory too...
                RED BULL did'nt give me WINGS, my BIKE did !!

                    err FZ not exactly in the "performance and mileage" bracket i think...in my opinion FZ was hyped more than its capabilities in terms of shear engine performance.....

                    styling depends on your taste..Avenger is a cruiser while the others are street bikes with more upright forward seating position...between RTR n P180,i would choose the RTR for performance....though the new P180 sure is a total VFM vehicle with all the useful upgrades.....

                          Go for any Honda. Unicorn/Xtreme/Hunk. All good with performance, FE and looks.

                            DONT GO FOR LOOKS,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

                            if u wanna anyways go for it
                            consider the fz

                            or otherwise the unicorn,,,,,,,,

                            fz was not over hyped by the company
                            it was just that people over expected from it
                            it is a wonderful handler and if ur riding in a city,,,,, its a blessing
                            and its top speed ( at which it can cruise nicely ) is nearly 95kmph i guess
                            for a beginner what else you want

                            unicorn is a dream of a machine --- mileage , city performance , comfort
                            what else wud ya need buddy,,,, and its like a tank
                            maintain it properly ..... it will run for years,,,, bloody thing goes on n on
                            and low maintenance

                            gs,,,,, the mid range vibs will eat ur head if ur constantly driving in the city
                            frnkly if u take my say,,,, i dont like it!!!

                            test ride and see..... just keep in mind what people say here
                            but final say shud be urs according to the test rides

                              Well, unless you're a seedha saadha kinda student who wants to look very decent rather than stylish, don't go for a GS or Unicorn... such smooth bikes don't suit college going students

                              You could go for P180 UG4 or the RTR (FI if you can) or wait for the RTR180 to release. However, I'm not sure what you can expect from P180 UG4's engine (in terms of mileage and performance) over a long term, because the older engine has been tweaked to give even more power... logically, it should give lesser mileage. But only time will tell.

                              I disagree with many of the above figures... Unicorn and GS150R don't match P180's performance (acceleration, top speed) at all AFAIK. Also, I think FZ16 delivers more power than both GS and Uni... and the RTR FI gives at least ~4-5kmpl more than RTR RD.

                              FZ doesn't give that good a mileage going by many owners here!
