My bad about the on-road price, I paid ~85k in 2007 and assumed that it would be a little higher now - prices seem to have fallen instead.

I'll add a few more pointers to my earlier post.

The irony in your case is that you dont have a good experiences with bajaj.....hence the current "MOST SUITABLE" bike Pulsar 180 UG4 (considering ur scenario) goes out....!

Apache 180 is coming which would again be a lovely bike (expected) again goes out..................!

R15 is way out of budget for most of us............!

Now the irony left with most of us is either to settle for a ZMA...(used, in your case... and new, in general) even if a user wants somthing new and fresh....!

Sad state of affairs in india is apart from bajaj (and tvs) , no other company has a bigger bike than 150ccs....and that includes HONDAS , SUZUKIS AND HERO HONDAS.....!

So if one has a plan of going for a big bike (bigger than 150cc) than you only have a lone bike ----- ZMA............or you have to beg, borrow, steal moeny for the Yamahas R15....else turn to companies which you dont want to go for.....!

Now why the hell do these BIG companies exist in india, if they cant serve us.....the bikers who like to grow big from the age old paranoi they have set for Indians........

      Anyways, coming to your condition....
Even my suggestion would be not to go for a used bike....

Wait for some more time....accumualate more money....and go for something which you want to own....
Compromising with 150ccs (when you want something bigger) is not going to satisfy you....and whats the point of investing 60-70 ks hard earned money if that money doesnt return you "peace" of mind.....!

All the best choozing.....make an informed decision....

        My replies in bold.

No comments! But I agree partially with your thoughts
        2) Unicorn : A great engine, refined, powerful. Good looks, good reliability. This is a choice and I may buy it if I don't find any other good deal.
All the best finding a less run Unicorn! I found one unicorn, 6 months old and 2.3k done, but the owner was asking and getting quotes of about 52-54k, when the new one costs 64k on road here in Pune. Very difficult to find a good one in resale.
        3) HH CBZ E : Very good acceleration, power, good looks too. This is one of my choices.
        Same as above.
        4) HH Hunk : I don't like the looks.
Me too. Plastic muscles are a turn off. But there are some good second hand ones available. However, HH or Honda will always be bit costlier.
        5) TVS bikes : Reliability is a concern. Also, the ASS experience of TVS is very close to Bajaj. I would like to avoid this company.
        No experience of TVS.
        6) Yamaha R15 : looks good but very expensive. I don't like any other bike from Yamaha.
        7) RE : expensive bikes, out of my budget. Also, the reliability is a concern. (But I have fallen in love with RE and know that one day, will definitely buy one.)
        8) Suzuki : I don't like the looks of their 150cc bike(forgot the name.)
The bike is GS150R, and very very difficult to find second hand, because it's been hardly 4-5 months that this bike is introduced.

Is 55K too much for this ZMA? The bike is in very good condition. I can rate it 8 to 8.5. If not this, where can I find a good condition ZMA/R15 in Pune? Any dependable used bike dealers?

Check sulekha and other sites that have free classifieds. You may find some good deals over there. But I have noticed that Pune city is best for buying new bikes (because of less road tax) and Mumbai is best for buying second hand bikes, because unlike Pune, using bikes is not a life necessity in Mumbai, and hence the resale market is small and rightly priced. In Pune, I feel the second hand bikes are overly priced. It's just my opinion, though.
