Whats up with ur 200 mate? Anyways, seeing ur requirement I would suggest u wait it out for the RTR180. The RTR 180 is as good a track tool as the R15 and a much better city commuter than the R15. Take this from the words of a person who is using them extensively on a daily basis. The ZMA just does not cut it out IMHO!

Although I cannot comment on how good the RTR180 will be for touring as the RTR currently is not! Test ride the RTR180, RTRFi and R15 and decide. the R15 scores over any OTHER bike in the rouring angle primarily due to its gearing!

The 220 will not feel so very different from a 200 except being a bit more refined and a bit more torquey.
Nothing wrong with my 200 Apar saar. I was just planning on going in for a new bike in any case. I've had the opportunity of driving the R15 on track, and I can't say anything but that it gives you oodles of confidence, even if you're a rookie. I can't say the same about the Pulsars - my Pulsar's rear started moving up and down on C6 and C7. I've already talked to you about the suspension - Pulsars are not cut out to be a track tool at all.
I still haven't managed to ride the RTR for a long distance, nor on the track. From the few short rides that I managed, and one nice curve near the beach, I judged that the bike was a bit too twitchy - it might not be as forgiving as the R15. I'd still like to try out the RTR 180, when it comes out. But I'm not sure when it's going to be here. I asked the TVS guys about when it's going to arrive, and they asked me if an RTR 180 was to be expected! I'm talking about Ramkay, that too. Depressing.
If it takes too long for the 180 to arrive, I might have to settle in for the R15. If I'm going for a new one at all, then I'm in a hell a lot of hurry. It'll most probably be by June. If it isn't happening by then, then I'll take some leisure time to wait and decide on newer options.

I would say for the overall experience - the R15. Proven track tool, more than a handful xbhpians have toured on it(I sp. remember mithun.08) and decent for commuting even though by experience I felt that its not too juicy below 6K RPM and low speeds in higher gears(good reason for downshifting and redlining !)
As for the twitchiness of the RTR, it might be a one-off case or the fact that RTR is a quick steering bike and responds even to the slightest countersteer but is a delight once you are accustomed to it. You could test ride the RTR180 before zeroing in on the R15 as its got a slightly increased wheelbase and wider tubeless tyres.

Hey Eashwar, lets not start a Pulsar war here. I know for enough about the Pulsars and where they lack and where they are good!! As for the RTR, u probably tried one with TVS tires on. Try mine and u will know. Most of ur handling and feedback is obtained not only from the chassis but also from the rubbers the bike runs on. R15 runs on THE BEST rubbers IMHO! Moreover now that the RTR180 has 17-inchers plonk in the R15 rubbers and it will be a good rival to the R15!

If u had wanted details on TVS, why did u ask RAMKAY? U cud have just dropped me a call and I would have told u on whom and how to contact!!

Anyways all am saying is don't miss out on a good bike just b'cos these bloody ASC's are giving u wrong info!

The expert's opinion matters. Thy are the expert Apar saar.

I guess you're right. The 180 would probably be a very good rival to the R15, especially with the same rubber. I know the difference the rubbers make, considering my 200 is now running on the R15 front tire. I'm pretty sure that both tires together would make a huge difference.

I'd certainly like to give the Apache a try. And can you give me details on whom to contact to know if I can get a whiff of the bike that's going to be coming in? I mean, the 180? I need to know when the bike is expected to be launched here. It mostly comes down to the time, what to go for.

PS: I'd like to try your 160 sometime too. Have you switched the rear tires to something else too?
