Nothing to worry. Do you think gixxer killed fz and eradicated it from market.Originally posted by burnoutdee View Post

Re: Spare parts availability between Yamaha Fazer 250, Dominar 400 & CBR 250R
To be honest once I buy the bike I don't care if it's discontinued or becomes a best seller. All I care about is its well being & availability of parts. As if companies care for customers...look at the friggin Honda what shit it's doling out even though they have a huge customer cum fanbase in India.Originally posted by S3maphor3 View PostNothing to worry. Well same is the game of 250s.
Gixxer has only managed to dent the sales of FZ (if it has) now with FZ v3 & MT15 Gixxer has a tough fight. Yamaha has a hardcore fanbase as compared to Honda n Suzuki. FZ25 n Fazer 25 are both premium commuter bikes whereas Suzuki 250 is a direct replacement of Honda CBR250R sans liquid cooled engine.

Re: Spare parts availability between Yamaha Fazer 250, Dominar 400 & CBR 250R
The Dominar should probably be the easiest given Bajaj's reach. CBR and Fazer 250 parts are generally harder to get, although it should be easier for the Fazer given the parts sharing with FZ25.Originally posted by purple_haze View PostSince I believe that a good availability of spare parts is key to a peaceful ownership experience, I would like to know which of these bikes have the easiest availability of spare parts- Fazer 250, Dominar 400 and Cbr 250r.
Probably need to do this for all the Japs (except Kawasaki) then.Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostThat's the plan and worth looking at.
Yamaha needs to be taught a lesson for India. Don't mint money from Indians and don't give us rubbish.
egs. Honda's Activa currently costs ~70k and their 160s cost ~1.1L on road in Bengaluru.
My Gixxer costed 98.5k when I bought it back in 2016, and my Unicorn 160 costed 96k in 2015. Surprisingly, the FZ v2 was the cheapest of the trio at 91k. Too expensive IMO.
Maybe my FZ25 is rubbish too, who knows.Last edited by Shashank K R; 06-05-2019, 01:56 AM.

For the specs that are offered, the price is a bit high even to maintain it.
FI unit needing servicing every 6000 kms is a bit too much actually. Yamaha is costly to own and to maintain. Yes, the quality is good and the ownership remains fuss free most of the times but then I'm an Indian at heart. Why should I settle for less when I can get more by paying less? [emoji4]Regards,

For the last line? Yes, you sensed correctly, just a little jokeOriginally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostDo I sense sarcasm here?

.
Not sure about the FI servicing part, the SVCs here clean the FI unit every 15-20k kms. The only things which really need to be done at a general service is an oil and oil filter change, along with chain lubing and cleaning. I save quite a lot by servicing it myself.
To be fair, parts are not that expensive. The FZ25 is the odd one out.
Out of the 3 Japs I've owned, the Suzuki was the cheapest to service and maintain. The bill rarely exceeded 600-700Rs. Meanwhile, most SVCs charge around 2-3k for servicing my Activa, which is just ridiculous.
EDIT - forgot to add the main conclusion. Tl;dr - It's just a matter of differing ideologies and preferences.

Fz v3 costs 4k more than Hornet abs dlx model . Now, FZ is the costliest jap naked in india, and most overpriced 150 cc bike is gixxer sf 150 , with just 14bhp and 146 kg kerb weight ! The most vfm 150cc bike in india is Pulsar 150 neon abs which is 81k onroad in my place which has more power than fz v 3 and equivalent to new gixxer !Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostThe Dominar should probably be the easiest given Bajaj's reach. Re: Spare parts availability between Yamaha Fazer 250, Dominar 400 & CBR 250R
Honda is the most economical of all Japanese manufacurers. Yamaha for eg , needs fi maintenance, oil seal leakage in yamahas is common, alloys are comparatively weak in yamaha's, servicing charge is higher slightly due to presence of external oil filter ( I am comparing about 150cc class here ) etc etc.Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostDo I sense sarcasm here?

From what I have seen, Hondas are costly to maintain. Spare parts availability is doubtful too.Originally posted by #bpk View PostHonda is the most economical of all Japanese manufacurers. Never tried Suzuki but looks very economical to me.Regards,
