  • Upgrading from Fz version 2 to D200 Bs6

Hi all I am thinking of upgrading my 2 year old FZ version 2.

The main reason of choosing KTM is their free revving nature and power.

My daily commute distance is 40 km a day which includes 50% city driving & 50% highway driving. The roads are a bit bad in some areas. And planning to do occasional short rides also of about 150-200 km and that's it.

My main concerns about the Duke are:-

1- Are the Duke alloys strong enough to tackle potholes and broken patches, Seen some horrific issues like broken alloys when driven on bad roads.
2- Hows the driving comfort of the duke when compared to FZ, Does the 200 cc duke handles the city traffic effortlessly?
3- How is relability of the KTMs when compared to the FZ.
4- My height is little over 5.8 so does the Duke provides a comfortable riding posture for someone like me?
5- How's the service experience of KTM, I stay in Hyderabad.
6- Is the D200 suitable for the regular commutes to office. Any heating issues with the engine?
7- Any hard gear shifting problems? Hows the quality of the D200 Gear box and clutch?

Here in Hyderabad, the D200 costs more than 2 lakh so is it a worthy upgrade over the FZ to my driving habits. Any other bike suggestions are also welcome. [emoji846]

I had own 3 bajaj bikes so dont want to get in to that brand again. Dominor service here in hyderabad is pathetic seen many negative reviews from the Dominor owners.

Fz25 comes in the same price bracket at Duke. Am a proud owner of FZ25 and had compared both before buying. The only reason for not buying the Duke was engine refinement. Not at all refined as compared to Yamaha.

But there is engine noise issue with all the FZ’s right?? Seen many owners facing the engine noise issue in our xbhp as well as in the youtube.
Also the power of the Fz is some what low when compared to the D200, Even the console looks dated and small[emoji1304][emoji1304]

Tell me a bike which does not have niggles?every bike has some sort of issues, bro people say bajaj bikes are not reliable so are others as well ,i have p220 nd it still sells more than ns 200,p180,rs200,infact in month of feb 2020 p220 has its sales volume increased, where as other bajaj bikes have not fared well.

Have you rode tvs apache rtr 200,its a good bike, have lots of features added in bs6 version,if not you may test ride it.

Every person have their own views well the pulsar brand is not in my list of buying. Already i owned 3 pulsars P180,P220Dts-fi and P200Dtsi ( carb version) iam really bored of pulsars. Looking to get KTM so need opinions from the duke 200 owners regarding Durability,Refinement,After sales service, And maintanence costs.

                            Go for the FZ25.

Better power delivery than D200. Almost on-par with D250. (Don't get fooled by numbers on paper).
'Torquey' engine combined with light weight handles off-road terrain easily as well.
Low maintenance cost compared to Duke.
Very good mileage results in good tank range during trips.

Horsepower was a lot safer when only the horse had it!!

As i mentioned in my previous replies even tough the Fz250 is a good bike but i dont like its console its too small even smaller than my Fz version 2.0 and also there is a rattling noise issue from the engine. Lets see what changes they have made to the BS6 model.
