I think you need to do some more of homework. If it is your 1st mod project then do not expect it to be absolute perfect. Everyone takes time understanding the real practical problems. Now you'll buy a hot new bike for 100K. Then wait for its run-in and bike to open up. After that you'll start with your stuffs with no guarantee that you'll do a perfect job and will not screw the bike! If you're an expert then you wouldnt be posting this question here.
I say: buy any 2nd hand bike and experiment with it. Once you're done with 1 project and got some confidence then you can try your hands on bigger ones.
    Just my opinion. goodluck!

I'll just clarify a few things here for you bikemaniac.
I've done the works on kushanth's bike and I know where it stands. It sure does not do 170kph (although we desire to get there someday ), but we have clocked a true 145kmph at a point where a stock bike only clocks 122kmph. That engine is no where close to a stock karizma engine, and the works are truly radical. The bike does a Q'tr mile time of 15.5 secs with a few kilos stripped off the stock bike. I won the Nandi Hill climb race on the bike with 7 secs lead over the 2nd place guy (frankly the bike was not handling well) on the same bike.
Some more works on the engine will start sometime next month, if I find time.
The karizma has the CC advantage. Like the americans say, "there is no replacement to displacement", so its indeed more rideable and is a super-thumper.
However with all that power, the handling on the karizma leaves a lot to be desired. I have exploited this bike at the race tracks, 2 hill climb events, drags and ridden it extensively on the streets and highways. Braking and the ride dynamics of the karizma indeed are a downer. It simply refuses to handle the extra power.
Having said that, it does not mean the karizma is a dud. Once the ride-dynamics are worked out and better brakes, etc shoved in.,..it will be a sweet handler. Someday we'll fix all that on our karizma and have some fun.
Now coming to the R15, its a killer handler in stock trim itself. It can take almost twice the power and still smile at you. The handling is unbelievebly spot-on.
The engine is very reliable and I having personally exploited my engine (and still exploiting a brand new engine now) has seriously withstood some solid abuses. However setting up the engine for reliability is also another ball-game. A lot of parameters need to be considered.
It can be built to last really long, can do touring and everything like a stock bike. Being a liquid cooled engine, it has no over-eating issues either (even if you run the works).
Both the karizma and the R15 are good bikes and I personally wont ditch either of them coz they are good in their respective areas.
The ball is in your court, you can pick what you want

I really didn't knw my bike could do 170kmph wat next ?? though the bike has everything to rev upto 11500 rpm in 5th gear (abt 165s true on paper) but there are some engine issues which has to be sorted out.. and the bike's top end as of date is 145 true.. abt 157kmph on the speedo..

                ^ YouTube - Kushanth's karizma doing 150kmph

this is the last video which was recorded before the hyderabad drag race..i did a casual run without the fairing which actually made me lose 5-6kph.. but the next set of mods should get me closer to 100mph wat say joel ??
