I like touring but i AlSO have to commute 90 km everyday.

UPDATE: just had a test ride at probiking, bike is good apart from one minor glitch, the rear disc didnt work very well, felt wooden and remote.

      Is this common with 220?

Had similar feelings during the my initial P220 ownership days.. But now I realize that the bite from the rear disc has been kept lesser than the front disc for a reason.

The rear brakes in a motorcycle is meant to slow down the bike not stop it. If the rear disc is made as sharp as the front, then its a sure shot recepie for skidding and fish tailing.

since u say 90km trip daily and touring the rtr wud be uncomfortable for such long duration trips(personal choice)

        i'd personally suggest the 220

        projector lamps(big +for touring)
        more torque
        more power
        larger seat
        comfortable seating for touring
        technically superior
and for that crash part-i'd say bajaj spares are easily available and are cheap as well

        all the best .
td both the bikes and finalize for urself.

Hi, Meet me..... I ride the RTR160 about 150KMs a day..... you still say its uncomfortable? ....
Having said that I do agree to all of the other points, except for technically superior bit!

Only thing is that with the reputation of you crashing! the P220s Big fugly semi faired state can take a beating everytime you crash...

Can I suggest you the R15 :P cheap (in cost) fibre everywhere!

Go for the the P 220, its far more technically advanced than any bike and guess what it is faster too.
And RTR is not uncomfortable at all, neither in city nor on the highway.

sry dude, dont intend on crashing the P220. R15 seems too small for me, still remember the snide comment from a friend who went with me for the r15 td. "looks like you are gliding holding a bike front fairing".

BTW: how are ya? read u had a big crash a while back?

Personally I find the P220 a bit large to handle in city traffic.. but then hey, its more because of my small build.

On open highways, I love the stable and big bike feel of the P220 and those bright Projector Headlamps deserve a special mention in terms of lighting up a dark road.

Lolz the R15 suggestion was just a joke because of the low cost fibres everywhere
I am good, actually been riding for a week now! Back on R15.... all that crash expense came out only to be 1300RS for the bike~! Am sure the repairs to the Watch will cost as much!

dude, the 2009 p220 has got loads of power bt according to me, seems to be overhyped..riding a byk on the street and dyno are two very different things..a byks true worth is on the street, not the dyno, cos dats when all the reality about the bike's worth pours out..also not a pulsar fan myself and hardly trust the bajaj engine..if u think that p220f is gud since the dts-fi was gud, think again...dts-fi is a gr8 ride coz of the fi ONLY.. and bout the rtr, there have been issues dat the seating isn't too comfortable either..
U said u like touring, then a touring bike shud be comfortable to the utmost point..both of these bikes are power pouring beasts with least attention on comfort..so ought to make a compromise..test ride the rtr too on the road and see..
--its my personal opinion and don't wish to hurt pulsar fans' feelings..

Dont want 200 cause the new 220f is here. dont want r15 cause cant afford it. dont want KariZma cause in my opinion it is grossly overpriced. Fz is underpowered compared to any of these.

That leaves two choices, the menace or the 220f.

both bikes have power... no doubt on that !!! now it depends how comfortable you feel on which bike. I personally was more comfortable on the RTR , so went for it

Thank you for all the Ideas and inputs. I test rode both bikes. The RTR was great in all respects. A bike which weighs a135 kilos and is as powerful as the Zma. Awesome performer. The pulsar 220f is a relaxed heavy bike with lots of power on tap and one thing that i missed the most after my RD, a tall final gear. The RTR is really good and I recomend it to any one who wants two stroke style fun on a 4 stroke bike, small, compact and a storm. Pulsar has more of a relaxed smooth flow of power, a LOT of power. on the features part the Pulsar wins hands down.

The decisions have been made. As soon as I get the money it will be the PULSAR 220f 2009.
