  • Please help to choose my new soul mate

I have enough experience in PLATINA now. Now, I want to step into 150-180 cc world.
As I am mainly a tourer and having an athletic figure, so I am looking for bikes which can give enough comfort for long trips with optimum speed and mileage.
My choices are: Unicorn, Apache-FI, Pulsar and CBZ xtreme

Here I am preferring CBZ, as it is lighter than Pulsar and comfortable than Apache. But again, Unicorn is coming to my mind as its engine is too good.

Can anyone please sort out the names and also with a 2-3 liner if possible? You can extend the list also.

Again, I am saying, price is not my concern as I am ready to pay for the best.

Unicorn - very comfortable with smoothest engine but also lowest power .also is a bit Outdated model in need of some changes.

Pulsar 150/180 -all rounder with good power but is a little heavy especially the 180 . great looks and Vfm

Apache Fi - best power and light weight and handling and Braking . instead of the 160 go for the similarly priced RTR 180 . the power wont dissapoint you at all .

Cbz-x - has the HH service backup and is a fairly good bike but nothing unique .

also look at suzuki gs150 - its very smooth engine with 6 gears cwhich dont stress engine on long rides.

Think of the gs150r. Good mileage and comfortable.

+1 for GS. It seems to be rightly balanced as per your need.

                Xtreme or Unicorn

Unicorn : Excellent engine refinement, long termer, quality and reliability is very good.
Xtreme : Almost same as Unicorm, better performance, good service network.

Test ride these machines and listen to your heart.

Honda is coming up with a new 150cc, which is said to be sporty, with same mill from Unicorn. Cannot say exactly when they would launch it. If possible, wait for that.

Both Xtreme and Unicorn are good.

Honda themselves told to press. They quoted it as 'another variant of 150 cc'.

The model, I guess will sport same Unicorn mill, and would look like Karizma, and is sold in several international market as CBF150.

If budget is not your concern&you are into long rides, then why not think of Karizma, R15, P220 etc.?

If you are still stuck to the 150-180 segment, then I would suggest GS150R. 6th gear will be a boon for touring. Mileage will please you. Other benefits mentioned in the GS thread.

@ravi@17bhp: You are right, Honda has stated that it will be called the CBF150&styling wise will be what the Stunner is to the Shine. They are testing the 110section tyre for this bike.

If budget is not a concern why are you bound till 150 cc only

Anyways, among the mentioned bikes, xtreme would be the best buy in 150cc segment...!

                              Thanks for your information.
Actually, budget is not the concern means I am ready to spend around 80K bucks.

But the concern is, whether I will be able to handle those biggies or not. So, to gain experience, I want to brush up with my biking skills in 150-180cc range for at least 2 years.

I guess, then I will be mature enough to go for biggies.
