    Bigger bikes does not mean you can not handle them

    In fact, if you look at it they might prove to be easier to ride than smaller powered bikes majorly because of abundant power available...!

    Anyways, if you are comfy with 150ccs, then better go for them....Makes a lot of sense...!

      If you are still stuck to the 150-180 segment, then I would suggest GS150R. 6th gear will be a boon for touring. Mileage will please you. Other benefits mentioned in the GS thread.

      @ravi@17bhp: You are right, Honda has stated that it will be called the CBF150&styling wise will be what the Stunner is to the Shine. They are testing the 110section tyre for this bike.
      Many many thanx Sarvajit......

      I am currently in Bhubaneswar and there is no Suzuki show room here.
      So, may be, I will have to drop out the idea for GS150.
      If CBF150, will be a look alike, that of Stunner then I guess, I need to opt this one out also. Because the front covering of Stunner do not influence me.
      In that case if Honda upgrades its Unicorn version in near future then please let me know.

        Actually, BI said they are testing a 120 section. The parallel thread running about a new ZMA, I have a feeling, might be a new Honda 150.

        Actually, budget is not the concern means I am ready to spend around 80K bucks.

        But the concern is, whether I will be able to handle those biggies or not. So, to gain experience, I want to brush up with my biking skills in 150-180cc range for at least 2 years.

        I guess, then I will be mature enough to go for biggies.
        If you are ready to spend 80K bucks, go for a P220. The difference between the 150/160/180/200/220 isn't so much that you cannot handle it. You are quite capable of handling a P220 if you can handle a CBZ-X. It's all about a balance of self-confidence and keeping a cool head above your shoulders.

        It is great VFM with

        * rear discs
        * good looks
        * projector headlamps
        * far greater performance than any bike in that category (barring R15)
        * taller gearing to help you tour better

        EDIT:- If you are still not willing for a greater than 180cc then I guess P180 UG4 itself is a good overall package. Unicorn/CBZ-X are good bikes too with super smooth engines but they lack in power and styling/gizmos.

          I guess, you are a hard core Pulsarian.

          Can you throw me some light on the recent version of P180? This option came to my mind just now.

            @somnath13: You are welcome. I think Pranay is right, the P220 will be the best bet for 80K. Since you are into touring&have a good budget, why not go for the best your budget permits?
            In any case even if you go for a 150-180cc, your chances of outgrowing it within a year or so are high, as you will be into touring.
            Don't worry, if you can handle CBZ-X, you can handle P220 also. Take some time&you will get used to the bike slowly, be it even a SBK.

            @pranay: I also have a similar doubt, since Honda had announced the testing. I just hope this bike is not the Honda 150, else people will curse HH all the more!

              @Sarvajit: thanks for your info.
              Can you throw some light on P220's reliability as it do not have the kick start? Is, self start sufficient enough????

                Pulsar 180 is one of the best value for money machines in India.
                It does everything almost in right quantities. It has the right amount of power to go with a very acceptable mileage along with one of the best rideablity

                With the recent upgrade it has become reminiscent to the outgoing P200 with many things borrowed from the bigger siblings...

                At a tad higher than 69k on road Pune, it makes much more sense than any other 150cc (obviously if you are not considering mileage as your prime criteria)...

                  Many many thanks Nawab saheb

                  Avenger is not of my type, as I do not have enough physique to handle it for long trips. Also, I guess, its rear suspension also lacks performance wise as compare to others one.
