    What Bike..

I read through the entire thread you have created and this is what my experience says..
1> You want the best of both worlds i.e. cruisers / sports which is not a right frame of thinking. Instead what bike can get me the best in power and the best in long shelf life should be considered.
2> Rightly said that the R15's and ZMA's are pocket burner's when it comes maintenance ++ parts/spares because /*I hope not*/ if your bike slips the fairings and small things that get broken during the fall may cost you somewhere around 4k-5k<on an average>....I have a ZMA and have replaced the complete front 5 times costing me 5000rs+ each time over a span on 3yr.
3>I feel that you would also like to put filters, upjet and stuff once you have a ZMA or P220 or any other indian sports bike as there is a craving for more speed. This sometimes causes damage to the cylinder kit and pistons as you are deriving more from the same engine again that would lead to pocket burns.
4> I remember you said you need the bike for city driving and touring on weekends. After you pay so much for maintenance it would seriously affect your touring budget.

Here is what I could suggest:

1> Go for a touring bike TBTS or much better would be a Royal Enfield Machismo 500cc lb costing a little more.. why this because it has the blend of good raw power combined with a sustainable mileage price:1.17lakh approx. And i am suggesting you this being a ZMA owner.
2> As you are 6 ft tall your riding style would perfectly match with a cruiser bike and maneuverability would get better over time which would help in city riding as well.
3> I am 5ft 8in tall and 60 kgs but never feel that my friends machismo is heavy ... Its your riding style that will make you better and trust me you could go equally fast on this hard thumping beast like any other R15's or ZMA's or P220's.

4> All this will make sense once you go for something that gives you true value as per your style statement and attitude in the long run.

    Cheers
    Chris

Thanks bro... I am actually looking for something with a decent amount of torque (Speed is not the concern here.... the acceleration and the practicality of the bike is). And i think i probably shud go in for TBTS after the monsoon is over. But i shall test drive the P220 too....

Sure mate... Just a thought if you dont wait for the monsoon to get over and buy it now would be better.. Atleast you could enjoy driving in the rains.. I love it when it rains.

well i don't trust the p220 engine..r15 wud luk really puny infront of u and so wil the rtr..but buy the TBTS only if u also have a gud build else u wud make urself a subject of mockery..n mind u,TBTS is a beast which needs to be tamed with utmost caution..if u have a lean build, then p220 wud be the only option although u can't trust the engine..if u get really confused, test ride all of them and see which one was the best..dont think then bout anything else then like the bike luks puny or something else..after all, u might even find the most comfort in the puniest..

If you look great in build and have a deep pocket to pour fuel....and maintaining......go for TBTS

If you want style - fast and ok to take her to the Pro Biking showroom again and again go for P220

If you want style and some eyecatchers - compensating its Punny looks go for RTR 180.......

Atlast if you want good engine - good for racing - good for Touring(VFM)
you can compensate on the age old engine and age old model ---- go for ZMA.....

In between R15 is little bit higher than ur budget........its upto you coz its a Fully Track Tool......never even imagine R15 in our city traffics......becoz one of my close friend is getting roasted with this trivia.......

Thanks guys.... i do have a considerable build and test drove the TBTS earlier..... i just loved the laid-back sitting posture. and well... i heard a few good things about P220 too... heard they manufactured an entirely new engine cast specially for the dtsi P220 (They changed the Bore*stroke from the earlier 220 mill). any idea if this is true or yet another rumour?

I am now totally confused....... my dad says thunderbird is not that good (he hates it for its looks and high maintenance) and wants me to buy somthing with better technology. I didn't find R15 to be comfy. So now considering P220 as an option, does it have enough mid-range torque/power for comfortable touring?? Bike gurus.... help me out
