@subahnker:_in the bike india test which you are talking about the rider on the p220 was much heavier as compared to rider on rtr180. do you think it could have impacted the test results in some way??

@chetanraut:_I would suggest p220. i own a rtr fi and vibrations are there inrtr and it may not be comfortable on long rides.rtr has got better handling than p220 and mileage is also better. and both bikes will bring a big smile on your face when you ride it and probably both bikes will also manage to bring a big frown on your face when you visit their service centers

BI mentioned that they did a pune-mumbai trip and the bike was very comfy. i read somewhr that the handlebar-footpeg angle is changed and now its more comfy.

Requirements are decent power that can bring smile on my face every time I ride the bike and average about 40 to 45 kmpl. Also should be a really good handler. Budget max 80K.

Actually this is my second bike my first bike is CBZ Xtreme so I need more power than my first bike.Right now I have 3 bikes on my mind Pulsar 180 UG4, RTR 180 & 220 DTS-i. As I have never ridden any of this 3 bikes so please give me the input regarding power, average and handling and also how these bikes behave when ridden flatout. Also i need to know about the maintainance cost of these 3 bikes i.e. which one of these will be expensive to run. for ex. spare parts cost which one is more expensive than other.

I will be doing mostly city riding and occasional 500 km round trip. And this trip will be done mostly once in a month.please help me guys I'm really confused with this.

well me speaking as an owner of a p180ug4 would restrict myself to it.

THE P180- LOOKS GOOD WORKS BETTER

POWER: the 180 of what i've felt has short 1st and 2nd gear (but the acceleration is superb) ,the vehicle is good at overtaking, you will never run out of power at city and on highway the bike feels rock solid and planted
you can easily cruse at 100+ speeds, the engine never felt stressed
(my bike is in runnin ,ripped it just once) ,post 1st service the vibs are not felt at all.

average: 42.xx when last checked ,runnin is still on so expecting an increase later on

handling: initially i struggled a bit (not b'coz of the bike but my graduation from scooty to this beast),now i'm absolutely comfortable, only problem then and now-turning radius,it's a bit on the higher side(larger chasis) but this very
frame gives you higer stabilty at high speed.

maintanance: as far as i know spares of bajaj are the cheapest and you would
find bajaj sc's in even interior places .

hard riding & long trips: as of now i'm soft ,ripped only once but throughout i never felt any lag or anything but i can't tell you much on this, but should'nt be a problem since there are already enough long rides on pulsars by various people to inspire your confidence.

OK lets not confuse the buddy any more..Here are some ground facts..they play a major role keeping ur riding conditions in mind..P220 has got lots of power and torque no doubt and rtr180 has got lesser in both terms..BUT p220 pulls out its real show once u cross the 7k line coz both the max power and torque come really high up the rev range..which means awesome highway dude but sucker at city riding unless u ride at a lower gear at higher rpm..rtr180 has its max torque at a much lower rpm and max power too..so in city riding,u cant overtake a rtr180 on p220,hands down..but when it comes to highway,u might start jittering at higher rpms on the rtr...
so in regard to the bikes available in the market, u cant smoke the rtr in city and p220 on the highway, unless YOU OWN THE R1

Out of the 3, P180, P200 and the RTR180, feel the new improved P220 would suit your requirements well and also comes within your budget. You would really reap its benefits on the highway, however the RTR 180 is a breeze inside city limits. Its more flickable and has a shorter turning radius and you'll win most of the traffic signal drags.
I would recommend you to test ride both the P200 and the Apache180 and go by what your heart says brotha.

IMO Apache RTR 180 would be the best suited for you!

take a test ride and decide
rtr 180 for more city riding
and pulsar 220 for more highway riding and touring
