I'll also suggest you to go with GEARED BIKES.. and the suitable bike according to me for you would be RTR 180/160 Fi short and revvy.. and the 180 in white looks gr8 too.
oh and regarding the brakes on the RTR.. you'll get used to it, dontcha worry

    Happy Biking

Since your daily commute is 10kms only Comfortwise all are ok and mileage also wont affect you much .
My Suggestion is now try to practice some geared bike and learn how to ride one for a week or so and then get the Bike .

And most importantly if i take a new bike and practise on it, would it be affected?
Not unless you start Stunting on it

My suggestion would be the white RTR 180 , dont go for the 160 or fi version .

the power doesn't come in only for revving to top speeds..... it can be crucial when overtaking in city. and as far as 10 km commute is concerned..... anything will do, but IMO go for a geared bike only. The RTR is a very good bike....probably the best for riding in city.... so try it out. Remember, whenever buying a new vehicle..... consider atleast 2 more options of similar specifications.

No man will be a marine engineer who has contrivance enough to get himself into a jail;for being in a ship is being in jail, with a chance of being drowned.A man in a jail has more room, better food and commonly better company.

I know some things are easier said than done but then if you have already shortlisted the two, I wud suggest the FZ. Nothing against the DIO. The Dio is a great vehicle in itself and more than serves the purpose it was built for but at 19yrs I am sure it might not give you the full thrill of riding that a geared motorbike can.

About your weight and personality, well I have this tall skinny friend of mine who rides a Bullet. He has it for the last 5yrs and now at 30yrs his waist is still under 30" and he rides it pretty well. So I don't see any reason why you won't be able to handle it.

Now you might say, well I am new to riding geared bikes plus would the FZ suit my personality. Hmmmmmm None of us came preinstalled with riding skills. We all have to learn it and you too will over a period of time. That takes care of the first part. Coming to the second part, just make sure you are dressed and seated properly and you will create a style of your own and you still have AGE on your side. You can hit the gym and build some muscles to match your steed. No other current indian bike inspires muscle building as much as the FZ. So over a year or two when you will have some ripping muscles, you won't have to depend on the muscular shape of the bike to impress the fairer sex.

                  Well that is my view.

Since your a College Guy ZMA would also be an option, its got cool looks, touring, 40kmpl ....

hey this question has been asked about a lot in the forum ... why don't you go through the FZ ownership thread ... by personal experience i can say that the pillion seat should not be a problem unless you plan to go on long drives with it ... else it's ok ... I've done a 112km single stretch with a friend ( 6ft3 and 80kg) on the bike and he didn't feel uncomfortable ... FZ it is , if you ask me ...
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

FZ16 headlight assembly with projector and angel eye for sale .

well....looking at your options FZ would be your best choice....its your first bike and FZ fits the bill for you...its totally controllable in city and the best in looks(u know that)...its the most comfortable city bike(no doubt)....

Also dont worry about your looks on the bike...looks are subjective....
Regarding the pillion seat it would not be a bother...i have taken my Dad to many rides within city and he never complained about it....
So i can suggest you to go for the FZ....and if you wanna check out RTR...then
better check out the 180 rather than FI(am not against it though).....
But do test ride both bikes again and listen to your inner voice for the winner...cheers

Dude!! FZ and Fazer is the same bike except for that good looking fairing on Fazer.

The FI is definitely worth its price. The Fuel Injection calculates the optimum Fuel+Air mixture for combustion and thus produces the maximum mount of power for optimum fuel mixture. The only problem being its service can be a bit expensive.

IMO RTR 180/160 Fi is much more suited for city riding conditions than Fazer is.
Remember: "This thread counts for only 50% of your decision. Decide only after test-driving a bike and buy the one on which you feel good and comfortable"

P.S. : Fuel economy of an FI engine is usually much higher than a carb version of same engine size.
