      1. power - 220, duh!
      2. fuel efficiency - Almost similar
      3. durability - 220 should have the edge here, but debatable
      4. top speed - Now, which bike was the fastest Indian?
      5. handling (coz have ridden pulsar 200 but not the above specified) - Both are similar, decide which bike gives you a comfortable riding position

Or if it calls for any other reason to make a preference...do tell me...most probably..i'll b making it by september mid.!!!@!!!!

      My answers in bold.

The pulsar 220 matches your criteria

          1. power-The P220 of course...
          2. fuel efficiency-similiar I'd say...
          3. durability-hmm...
          4. top speed-P220 again...
          5. handling-Please have a TD of both the bikes and decide...

The 220 is no longer FI ... 5'7'' height might pose a problem. Not sure. Go to nearest bajaj showroom and get a test ride !
May the torque be with you..

A good rider, (mind you I did not say an excellent one) doesn't need long legs to ride a bike like the 220. I too am 5'7". I ride a Karizma and have ridden a 220FI as well(sparingly). You shouldn't have any problems, as long as you ride with heart & head combined and not just on adrenaline.

                In short, chill yaar!

P220 should be the best bet here. Reasons: more power, nearly same fuel efficiency(if not more than fz), stands out of the crowd (the "big bike" reputation) and as far as the price is concerned, Fz comes about 4-5k cheaper than P220.
                      IMO, go for P220

                        P220 is a healthy choice between fz/fazer - P220

@nnick_hunk91: Close your eyes, & go for the P220 (unless the test ride makes you feel otherwise)..
It will score over the Fazer/FZ in all parameters, except maybe the P220 is a tad behind in the looks.. But since looks don't feature in your list, the new carb P220 should be the one for you..

i am really confused,as i am going in for my 1st bike!

karizma-r never featured in my choice, but after reading some pathetic reviews and complains about the 220 dts-fi,i am having second thoughts!
will the karizma-r help me in the long run,i dont care for the 21bhp of the pulsar,i want a bike which i can rely on,in terms of maintenance,handling,refinement,feel-good factor!

                            please help!

With your budget&requirements, I would have gone for the ZMA-R, unless I was prepared to extend my budget beyond a lakh&wait for the rumored ZMR, which also brings the R15 into consideration!
