I don't think it'll be a problem...The new activa does pull very strongly. If you are not convinced, there's always the suzuki access.Wonderful scoot it is,if you can do with the somewhat bland looks.since you've also mentioned about the shopping bit,a scooter makes a lot of sense IMO...

Oh YES !! It can pull 100 + 100 kilos effortlessly, Activa or for that matter any scooter are best only on 'good/even' roads.

Why aren't you considering Yamaha RX100, 125 or 135? IMO it's the lowest bike after Rajdoot GTS in the Indian market!

You can get a good and well maintained RX for not more than 15K!

I am not keen on old ones, just don't want to have any maintenance on that.

I called few Honda showrooms in Hyderabad today and they told about 3 months waiting for Active..

The nearest Suzuki showrooms (if I want to buy access) is very far from my house.

I don't understand the basic thing, the rest of the world says recession, recession and recession why the hell we have short supply of machines in India.
          No brainer to me...

is it because of Indian govt. don't want to import them at once ??

Looks like HMSI is 100% govt. subsidiary !! (this kind of demand for activa exists since years, HMSI is not expanding their capacities, can't understand the logic)

@niv: I would recommend the Suzuki access 125. Its way better than the activa.

today I called suzuki showroom in hyderabad, they told me 15 day waiting period is way betterthan what Honda people told.

The only concern it's very far from my home.. What's the access service intervals?

They told me on road price is 51,543 including accessories.

What are the accessories they are talking about? I never heard that you have to buy accessories with the bike.. (or I might have forgotten).

BTW, This is the first time I am thinking to buy scooter

                        Thx/

maybe it's the crash guards, handle bar grips, floor mat etc etc...It may even include side stand and mirrors coz most companies offer them as accessories...(I think so)

Yeah access and activa are the best choices if you are considering it for parents or elder people. Access may be a little heavier than Activa but is brilliant package. You won't go wrong with either one of them.
