Already my dad had test drive with TVS Flame(2009 model) and he liked it. So better we will visit Yamaha show room and will have Gladiator test drive and let him decide which bike he need.

Then even we visited Hero Honda show room but the person there didnt gave test ride for super splendor and he said the vehicle will give mileage around 45 - 50 so we came back..
must be one hell of a person.shooing away customers by saying such things....

@archat You and your Dad are making the right choice. There is very little to choose between the Flame and the Gladiator. One thing that goes in favour of the TVS Flame is that it has Twinspark technology hence it should be a more efficient engine. Well in theory atleast and Yamahas have never been renowed for their mileage so on that angle the Flame should be good choice for you.

Yes! TVS just recently won a legal battle with Bajaj over the Twinspark.

MUMBAI, Sept 16 (Reuters) - India's highest court has allowed TVS Motor Co (TVSM.BO) to sell its "Flame" brand of motor bikes that feature twin spark plugs as a legal battle with larger rival Bajaj Auto (BAJA.BO) continues, both companies said on Wednesday.
TVS and Bajaj Auto have been locked in patent case over the use of technology in the Flame motorcycles.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday "held that TVS is entitled to sell its product Flame containing three valves and two spark plugs," TVS Motor said in a statement.
Bajaj Auto has said it developed and patented the twin spark plug technology in 2002.
"The Supreme Court has directed TVS to maintain and file accounts of sales which shall be verified by a receiver to be appointed by the Madras High Court," the TVS statement said.
The Court directed that the suit before the Madras High Court be concluded by November 30, the companies said in their separate statements.
"In the interim, TVS has been allowed to sell its bikes with twin spark plugs, with a Court Receiver being appointed," Bajaj Auto said in its statement.
TVS Motor shares ended up 9.99 percent at 58.90 rupees in a firm Mumbai market. Bajaj shares were up 1.19 percent at 1380.85 rupees. (Reporting by Tamajit Pain & Aniruddha Basu; Editing by John Mair)

All TVS Models are has only Single Spark Plug.......

It was introduced as Twin Spark Plug - But latter TVS themselves modified the Engines for Mono Spark Plug......

TVS flame will return u a mileage of constant 60KMPL in Normal riding conditions
In Full throttle you will get somewhere around 45 - 50KMPL...

Hi Friends, Finally my dad took test drive of Gladiator. Now we have decided to go with TVS Flame or Yamaha gladiator. Now please any Gladiator user can tell me the mileage this vehicle gives. Because we had YBX previously, initially it was giving around 50 but now it dropped to 25 so this should not happen for new bike also so we are looking about mileage. Our need is 55KMPL and low maintainence. So please provide some more inputs on these 2 vehicle. Tomorrow we are going to buy.

You can very well check the Gladiator Thread - where everyone gets mileage lesser than 50kmpl.....so in future this may only get Reduced after you buy the bike.....
And moreover There are a lots of Rusting complaints in Gladiator....
You have problems in lack of more service centres as TVS and Bajaj has in India....

I would really suggest Flame....not that i own one....Its a mean machine which was dumped because of the HC case with Bajaj....
Flame SR125 is more a confident bike then Flame.......

Moreover Gladiator has Toe shift 5gears which may be a bit of problem for your Dad....searching Neutral.....and will not be easy to ride while wearing Chappals in ride.....

Between at the end of the day style does matters....
Flame stands one step up on this scenario....
Digital Console, Full black body, 100 Rear tyre, Pilot lights, Tank storage, wider handle bar,Full cover chain box......

                      Choice is yours......
