  • APACHE RTR 160 Fi OR APACHE RTR 180

    Hi Guys..
My last thread was all about modifying my "LITTLE BIKE" (Bajaj XCD 125). But as all of you guided me to go for a bigger bike, I am thinking for the same.

    DISTANCE I TRAVEL EVERYDAY:
I stay in Ghaziabad and travel everyday to Gurgaon for my job. Its 48km one side. So total around 105-110kmr ride everyday (5 Days a week, 2 Days to give rest to the Engine).

    TIME I DRIVE:
Its a shift so mostly I drive in afternoon or late in the night. The time when it rains the most(so balancing, tyre size would matter for city roads).

    MY CHOICES:
Only two-APACHE RTR 160 (Fuel Injection) OR APACHE RTR 180.
Why these two? Answer- I am a die hard APACHE fan. I like every point of this amazing bike.

I love power too and I think you guys will agree on that too.
I heard that "Fi" have good mileage but its Rs2000-3000 costly than the othr option. But 180 have the power.

I am a bit confused to go for mileage or to pay a bit extra for power and compromise in efficiency.

prateek2210 i know you asked about your XCD modification which i replayed to you.Now again i am replaying to your question. My opinion is to go for Apache 180 RTR. FI technology in Indian bikes is not that great you will get 2-4 kmpl more due to its small engine size.Always go for new technology 180 RTR comes with good technology its an awesome bike go for it.

Thanks Zayn. But one question that often comes to me is : I haven't seen too much 180s in Delhi,NCR. So i bit hesitant as no one have given their verdict even haven't got the "first impression" here too.

Please don't go for FI version...TVS guys would definitely ruin your ride for sure. They aren't well trained to handle the FI..So change your lane to 180

Go for the RTR 180! When you are an Apache fan, why not ride the best Apache?

No brother that is not correct there are many 180RTR in noida and second reason is that people who are buying bike of Rs 70000 to 73000 ex showroom then they prefer pulsar-220dtsi which looks more meaner and bigger.even pulsar 180 sell is not that great which was before pulsar 220dtsi launch.so my opinion Apache RTR 180 is the fastest bike in terms of initial pickup even faster then YZF R15 good for drags....and its sounds like a bomb... heavy sound.

Dude, I own a FI, I must say it is a good bike, the throttle response is brisk and the milage is also better (48 kmpl approx). But I must also say the service guys are not much aware of the FI technology, All they say is that they have tuned CO.Local mechanics are also not comfortable with this bike.

Last week I rode one of my friends 180, Man it is Awesome, the low end torque is much better, I never felt the bike lost its power at any stage.

Go for RTR-180, anyhow U wants to UPGRADE to a bigger one then why settling for a near-150 category which rtr-fi is... DONT THINK ANY FURTHER & BRING HOME A GLITERRING WHITE RTR 180 & TVS is anyhow coming up with race-kits by AUTO-EXPO in Jan'10 so U will be burning roads ahead with p220/zma/zmr & by chance p180 if it gets closer..

the RTR is a great bike, the 180 more so. But does mileage factor in here? since you will be doing 100 + kms a day. And will the sportier stance of the RTR be comfortable in that regards.

I live in gurgaon, and have done gurgaon vaishali for about 45 days on my bullet. it was back breaking!!

I think you have already got many answers in favor of the 180. I also rode both of them&love the 180.
If you lived in a hilly area I would have suggested you the Fi.
