... I know Ken da an R6 is definitely not a tourer... so its time to edit the old thread of yours... LOL...
Anyways @Josh did had your choice man???

@jd666 a 600 cc would cost anywhere between 5 L to 6L depending on the model and the mode of import.. if its a TR then it would be a bit more.

the 2010 R1 is out as of now dude... have heard from many about the R1's handling and riding problems so am opting for a 600 as of now. Well after getting a view from you'll am now a bit skeptical about the R6.

thnks ken for the detailed description about the problems of the R6.
Am not much of a racer and would mostly use my bike for city rides or a tour.. track would be only once ina while so now am thinking more about the CBR.

As for the other options.. am actually not getting a clean bike in that segment. Still searching.

I personally do not like any of the above bikes. I prefer something like the Fazer600 S2, or the new Diversion 600 or if you are kinda tall, then the VStrom is a great machine though not very good for track, a trifle high.
Second that. I'm less of a faired bike fanatic. Fazer 600 isn't a very great looking bike though. Might easily mistake it for a FZ16 in terms of size. How about a Suzuki SV650? I have something for twins.

why did not not want to stay with a 1000?
if you get a 600 you are going to miss the power.

how about a triumph daytona 675?
overkill options aside, i'd go with the R6-nothing will be more impressive than that at Kari. but like Ken sir suggested, if long rides grab a higher share of your usage, you should seriously look at other touring options..

well my usage is city riding - 50 % long tours - 35% and tracks - 15% so i guess the R6 would not suit all my purposes like ken da said.

i first had a 1000 only but personally feel i would enjoy riding a 600 in the regular city traffic.

If its for more of city use and less of tours/track then the R6. But that said its good for the track as well. But since the Yamahas are known for their low end power it might be a lilttle dangerous in traffic if you're not careful with the throttle. But otherwise the cbr600 puts the rider well on in any type of use. But like the others are saying its hard to find a legal unit.
Riding is a way of life. Sometimes, it might also be a way of giving life. So Ride safe. In both contexts.

I have ridden the CBR600 quite a bit and I have not found it to be any more relaxing than the R6. And I maintain my stance for bikes like Fazer 600 or the Diversion600, they will make your life easier to live!

I have been on the faired Fazer 600. I think it does pretty fine in a neat way. But of course, without doubt my favourite being the SV650. It is probably the best 600 around! One of the best even on track for normal mortals. There was a thread to this effect.
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

after testing the cbr and the r6 finally i feel the cbr would anytime be a better choice for my requirements. It is very easy to handle and also has a very comfortable riding position compared to the yamaha's screamer R6.
I guess very soon i would own a sexy CBR 600 RR. Will keep updating.. thanks to all who have given their inputs for my query.
