  • 2010 yamaha r15... Help needed guys...

    Hi guys,

I am planning to buy a bike which has good performance figures...my budget is around 1.5 lacs...after going through various threads regarding R15 i have set my heart on the R15...but when i was browsing i came across this webpage..

Any Idea on 2010 Yamaha YZF R15 ?? - India Travel Forum, BCMTouring.com

is this thing real or just a thing like the fazer 250cc??...

i can afford to wait till mid 2010... will it be worth the patience???..

enlighten me guys... i cant really make a solid decision...

Also remember that whatever is showcased in an Auto Expo, for its actual release in the market can take anything between 8 months to 2 years to Never!

Highly unlikely . If it all R15 gets an update it will just be a minor one . just wait till jan and see what all is showcased and hope the bikes get launched in time

A good possibility does exist of Yamaha revamping their small wonder....

But whatever it will be, it would (in all probability) be cosmetic changes here and their....
                Engine would be left untouched...!

With the ZMR coming in as a direct competition to the R15 (At least in price bracket) and with the Honda badge having an uncanny knack of selling things.....R15 is bound to get affected....in terms of sales...

Now it depends upon how much is the effect...?
and henceforth, a revamped version would be pitted against the competition...!

what i know or heard is that the R125 is set for launch on the expo and few months after that it comes in at about ~80k or something. And they are bringing in a 100cc scooterette or scooter. and an econobike or something.

The fazer 250 is in the reckoning, but no confirmation.

This is from a reliable source, but they can be wrong, so dont flame me if it doesnt work out like that. THough i was not much wrong, when it came to the zmr launch.. lol!

There were some Speculations that R15 may get some minor Cosmetic Upgrades as R6 like Fairing, Broader Tyres with LED Rear lights
And beyond that there wont be much upgrades to the 150 segment

But there were some news floated that a New Bike from Yami's Stable is on the cards which will Compete with Mr.Green.....

I would say .. why not??
It can be Indianized version of R125, sharing components from R15 and 125 engine from Gladiator(different tuned or tweaked). It can share more and more from hit bikes of Yamaha. As R15's engine costs significantly due to import, an locally made engine and sharing more and more components can definitely give a perfect poser's bike on R15 platform at a significantly lower price tag

That's just what I think, so please take it lightly and don't put my words to fire.

@TNT - mate i am human... pretty much... and the pricing would make sense at ~80k. any higher and they cannibalize the R15 sales, and im sure, they cant go lower than 80k for cost issues.

And i dint determine the price, it was what was told to me...

I had a word with the dealer in Pune. He is confident that R125 is going to be launched within 5-6 months, probably this will be for the display at Auto Expo. Fazer 250 is on the cards, but was not sure on it's launch period. Currently he said Yamaha will be concentrating on Eco Bikes and R125 and about the R15 modification, not sure.....
