Indeed surprises will be there but to get materialized it takes another 5-6 months usually...and in case of TVS...even more..PERIOD!!! ...remember the 160Fi story

Anyways, looking forward to this expo eagerly

@Threadstarter : Congrats for the A180...which color did u book???
      White looks killer for sure

if you plan to go for a motorcycle in coming month(read jan), then there is no point in waiting as the bikes showcased and launched are diffrent and waiting is another sour part,
RTR is a more focussed machine & P-180 ia a very good alrounder, if you want your machines edgy and fast, RTR should suit you fine but Test ride both for at least 50kms and make a call,

Pulsar 180 or Apache RTR 180

Guys pls Help me out.. As the topic was already present m not creating a new one but the question in my mind the same..

          Pulsar 180 or Apache RTR 180 ...

I have read all the points mentioned here in xBHP and i have googled all the details abt both the bikes 1000 times.. But i stil cudnt manage to come to a decision.. I took test ride for both and after gettin confused further.. i decided to book P180 UG 4..(liked it realy).

But i didnt had my local address proof so Showroom waala refused to book it for me.. any ways tht is not a problm..

Actualy my room mate is using P180 UG3.. i see him daily mornin strugglin with his self start.. even after replacing a new battery ultimately Kick start only works for him ...

Wht if this hppns with P180 UG4 ..

Second question .. Is RTR 180 realy value for money... I felt there is still vibrations in the new ver. though less.. but its there..

Both are really good machines. The selection recommendations are person dependent. Please indulge details about your height, usage (city/highway %), total km/month, FE requirement, Budget, etc.. you know the drill.. BTW.. i would recommend that you do make a new thread instead of hijacking somebody else's... as this is your own bike.

            Anyways, Welcome to xBHP.

And finally, regarding the self start thingie on P180 V4, I don't think it has a kick, so its self start all the way. And if Bajaj is showing so much faith in the self start, i think you should too. These days it is quite cold all over india.. and bikes do take more time to start during the cold.. quite normal..

RTR is real value for money...vibrations do exist post 5k rpm but not as pronounced as the smaller siblings...
P180 too is a good deal retailing at around 2-3k lesser than the A180.Self start shouldn't be a problem since i haven't really seen many complain about the missing kick lever. It's battery is built for a purpose and does it's job well.

Don't worry too much about the absense of the kick starter.. the electric starter on today's bikes are quite reliable.

Apart from the Pulsar 180, even the Pulsar 220, Yamaha R15, Yamaha FZ-16/S, Fazer, Stunner PGM-Fi and the Hero Honda Karizma ZMR don't have kick starters.

dude i am 5.11 too and it just ''looks'' short but it is not... u should test ride both the bikes for sitting comfort...

second thing, yes absence of kick might create problem... and u can't compare it with other "kick starter-less" bikes, c'mon, its a BAJAJ...

I have been using my Kick-Start less P220 for the last 5 months with no issues at all. BTW, my earlier ride, a Self-Starter less, Caliber 115 had its kick lever broken 4 times durin its 5 yrs of usage.. i think that doesnt say anything better about a bike having a kick starter!

Even my Kick Start less P220 DTS-Fi has completed 27 months and 25,000 kms without any single starting related issue.

And by the way only Bajaj bikes come with an "auto-shut off" feature along with its DC lighting, which shuts off the headlights incase the engine. This protects the battery from being drained accidentally in case the headlights are someimes left "ON" while the engine not running.

Hey dont worry about the issue in kickless start , i was under same state of mind in which u are in currently, but had make up my mind & choose the black beast known as "Ram Pyari- The Killer" some recommended as "Khooni" P180, i to be honest i dont feel a penny of issue while starting the bike, it get start in one crank itself, moreover you would feel proud when u will see people struggling with there kicks & fortunately red light goes green.. but still struggles.. so relax... think about it, listen to your heart & go for it - "the bike you want".

                          Good luck..

there are plenty of p180V4 users who hasn't faced any problem due"no-kick-start" thing..if u have doubts regarding this headover to ownership section and put a query there.i myself own a p180v3 and i haven't faced any problem till now..i dont use kick at all..i live in a place where temperatures drop below 7-8 degrees

                                +1 to that
IMO p180 offers much better value for money than a180 because there's not a huge diff in performance and still p180 offers much better mileage then a180,p180 is more comfortable n also more stable........
also i don't think i need to mention which one offers better road grip.....
and as far as the kick-less starter is concerned,AFAIK p180 shares the same battery n starter as p200 n p220 and i have not read or heard any complaint about it from users of any of these bikes yet.........and at 5'11 ,the rider might face discomfort on rtr180.......
