Ninja no doubt an amazing bike, but ZMR should be the one.

Ninja is yet to prove itself on Indian roads. Both are bullet proof and rarely will anything major would go wrong, but what about the heat, the pollution, bumper to bumper traffic, soaring engine temperatures, bad fuel, after sales, spare parts, etc. Is the Ninja upto it? ZMR is.

My opinion, go for the ZMR, invest the saved money in riding and touring gear. All the Best.

As far as performance is concern, there is no doubt about the superiority of the Ninja over ZMR. Though when it comes to comfort & ergonomics, don't rely on what others says. Most guys in early 20's will hardly have any problem on sporty nature of bike design, their body can take it easily. Some people adapt to any given riding/driving positions regardless of age. Still there are others who struggles to get accustomed to it. Ride it yourself for at least an hour at a stretch and judge for yourself.

Ninja is an awesome machine with a lot of features. If you don't have any problem in spending, you can go for it. Else you can go for the ZMR.

I rode the R15 for two hours at a stretch and thought to sell her at that point but after getting accustomed to her riding position i feel sleepy on other motorcycles.

and depends how would you be riding touring etc? i like my machines hard hard, want to tour/ride extensively on impeccably good roads, so its for you to decide and as per guys the riding stance isn't that aggressive, i would have wanted a more sporty set up, with the foot pegs more rear set and higher up, so you can be the best judge...

It is not really right to compare the two, but as you have already said you just want 'to have a comfortable riding posture, good suspension, seating, and well... low vibration at high speeds ( between 90-100 kmph)',
I would say both the bikes offer it, only that the Ninja offers it in overdose!
100kmph on the Ninja will feel like 60kmph on our Indian premium bikes. Suspension&high speed control&refinement is not at all comparable.
The riding position is not at all taxing on the body-I have done a fair bit of touring on my R15&not had any issues whatsoever, I even use it to commute to work daily. The Ninja has a 26 degree rake&790mm.seat height, which are the same specs as the R15, but somehow the stance feels much more comfy, maybe due to the rearsets being slightly forward&the handle being wider.
As Ken Da said, I don't think roadside mechs would be able to deal with ZMR/R15 type of bikes either.
Going by your pic, I think you are fit enough to ride the Ninja for long distances with no signs of discomfort. I say if you have the moolah, go for it. I have no idea about pillion comfort though. The only point I can think of against the Ninja is probably the 135mm.ground clearance, which could be a hindrance in complete off roading. But I don't think you are much into that anyway!
As for the ZMR, as you mentioned, if budget does not permit, that is the next best choice. Would be great for touring with your partner.
But I still say the riding experience of the Ninja would make you forget about all other Indian bikes. If you have the money, go for it.

It seems you need a comfortable rear seat for your partner and frankly ninja's is'nt comfortable. Its hard, its small and its too high for long rides. .other than that the only issue would be ground clearance, that too bcoz the monoshock link is too low.

If you can deal with that and are going to stick to black tarmac for touring.
The baby ninja is the best machine.
Awesome lights even better than my swift, awesome stability around corners, no vibs, good power for overtaking those trucks and annoying cabs.

If you have the cash and are going to ride without a pillion, go for it. . .u'd love it.

well thanks for the feed back. i have 60 days by which i hope to get enough for a ninja. and its going to be black.

as an ex army officer hope to get some cut in the price of the baby.

my vision of ZMR has literally vaporised as production has been held back due to some serious glitches.

now its ninja or no bike.........

If I had that extra money, I would have definitely preferred Ninja.
But after my ZMA, a booked ZMR (yet to come) am targeting a CBR...

First, its been reported to be coming to India for ages....
Second, its an R15 competitor....not remotely anyway near Ninja...
Third, its strange you compare and predict a bikes maintenance cost before its arrival...

I really dont think you should even be giving it such a serious thought. Ninja is an awesome piece of machinery. The surge and feel of the bike is simply mind boggling. You would not even feel the speeds you would do on this bike specially after 4k rpm...!
