  • Buying my first bike. Need help.....

    Hi all,

I'm planning to buy a bike for myself. This is gonna be my first bike, so i dont wanna hurry up in taking wrong decisions. Hence seeking for ur help. Hope u wont disappoint me.

I'm new to the biking world. Dont have much experience in riding bikes, but confident of managing myself riding one.

My current choices are: Unicorn, Discover 135, Suzuki GS150, Apache RTR 180/160. My height is 5.10 & am working. Need it for daily commuting, hence looking at:
    -good mileage
    -comfort
    -reliable
    -low maintenance
    -good looks.

My first choice is Unicorn, but need some clarifications regarding it.
Many ppl advised me not to buy unicorn as it causes back pain coz of its single suspension.

    I'm really confused guys.....
    Plz help me out.

    Thanks.....

dude....considering ur requirements the unicorn fits perfectly....
dont worry there is no back pain....have ridden it even on long drives...
        its got good looks...good mileage...nice posture....low maintainance...

just the thing u have to consider is the waiting period...my friend waited for 2 months before he could see his babe....

dunno about the GS 150...check here....Suzuki GS 150

Well i will definately suggest you to go for unicorn as your first bike, blindly you can go for it, there no such prob of back pain, na not all. Besides its very comfortable for long rides.
            Cosgeo where are you ??
You can take advise and review form uni riders
2nd priority from my side is gs150, but dont give any 2nd thought, just hit for uni.
            All the best
            Choose wisely
            Regards

Allwin i would suggest GS150 over uni and P150. Even though i dont own this bike i have ridden it around for a while in Bangalore traffic. its got the looks(uni is same old since its launch), fits your physical frame(5' 10") mileage wise it is at par with uni and pulsar. got a extra gear if you are planning for weekend rides outside.
take a test ride of both uni and gs150 and go by what u feel about the bikes.
every one has a different point of view against each bikes.
Bikes don't spill oil, they mark their territory.

Having back pains while riding unicorn is nonsense.I have 3 year old unicorn and i never faced any issues with it.The only thing is that honda service centres are not that great. So once you complete your free services,i suggest you to get it serviced elsewhere.Good luck!

Its a fair draw between the unicorn and the GS150. Mate try and get a test ride of both the bikes to draw a conclusion and see how they fare.
