I agree with jd666... try out the fazer... it matches all your 5 requirements. ride it properly and it returns a mileage of 40+... superb handling... buttersmooth engine..and looks++++... engine reliability should be great since its a Yamaha... u say ur a beginner right.. u may find the turn radius in the fazer a bit bothersome... a bit on the costlier end though.. u get a karizma zma-r for the exact same price... i recently checked out most of the bikes in the 150cc segment... din quite fancy the pulsar 150.... apache rtr 160 fi is bang on for its cost... if u like a racy bike try this one out.. gs150r is a good bike... but it falls in the looks segment and i really don see the need for 6 gears in this bike... unicorn too is a superb bike.. for practicality purposes gs150r and unicorn are the bikes... apache and the fz/fz-s/fazer are just a step up above these on terms of additional flair..

        Out of the above:
        1) GS150R is a true winner when it comes to city commuting and highway rides.
2)Apache: Ride it and rest you will know, it has considerable vibrations, so least prefer it.
3)Pulsar 150: Reliability is problem here.
4)Pulsar 135: Till now it has got good reviews. but, it is still a new launch from bajaj so you should wait for 6 months. so, that the bajaj engineers get all the problems sorted out if any are copped up.

If you are going for Fazer or FZ, then my suggestion will be , leave the two and buy a P180 UG4, i myself own it and it regularly gives me an average of 48-52kmpl.

On a RTR you will feel as if you are part of the bike that feeling does not come with the other bikes in your list i have ridden all of them except the 135cc add to that it has got awesome brakes a good combination for a beginner i think .

Yes!, realiability is low as compared to Yamaha,Suzuki...
Any new bike will have onsiderable amount of vibrations which will disappear after the runin period in most of bikes.

guys i want to purchase a new 150cc bike and i'm very new to biking, my criteria is

                          1) mileage-app. 40 - 45
                          2) good Handling
                          3) no vibrations
                          4) Looks++
                          5) Engine Reliability

                          other details--
                          Height- 5'5
                          weight- 58kg.

daily travel of 5 to 7 kms,on weekends about 80kms.

                          i have shortlisted -

cbz x-- good bike but lack of front style, my height dnt go with it...
                          hunk- dnt like it..
fzs- it appeals me but mileage sucks.
unicorn-- old looks though good bike.
pulsar 150-- it looks gud(bt a very common bike)..dnt knw abt its seat height.
                          gs150-dnt knw abt.
apache-- i like it, but it is high on power(i m a begainer)
                          p135ls--- dnt knw

one post so many question and ya a very confused one....... hope u wil help me out, thank u all in advance
HI,welcome to xBHP, Go for HH bikes if you want excellent service and readily available spare parts.

Bajaj has got a reliability problem I do agree but when I asked the same question here someone answered me that it's not that bad at least you can live with it trust me.between p135 and p150 I would suggest you to go for p150 since the waiting period for p135 is about 2months if you can wait then it's good, also there are some issues with p135 the rear suspension to be specific check out ownership thread for more info, on the other hand p150 is there since years if you want exclusivity try p180 it can return upto 45kmpl if ridden well

Coming to yamaha, Looks, reliability are there but mileage and service suck big time..you can check out fz16/s or fazer it will surely attract you but only go with these if you have good yamaha service centre there in your place

Honda, refinement, reliability, mileage are there but Unicorn is very old but trust me you can't find any better replacement under this price tag

lastly apache, a very good bike but riding posture is bit-sporty and ya vives are there!!do test ride b4 u select.

                          can't comment on GS150R

well I guess I have written a lot, but at d end I want to tell you that Go for the one that you want to go.

Rightly said by k2cool... u get crash bobbins and leg guard to protect the bike.. and anyways u will be a beginner only for few days or months...ride carefully until then...

+ 1 for the Suzuki GS150 . It fits ur requirements perfectly . Fresh looks , good mileage and a reliable engine . Another option for you would be the Unicorn, its a very good bike , decent power and the engine is reliable as this universe .but the looks are outdated

Just a bit of advice , dont let the height, weight and learner factor's affect your decision in choosing the bike . Height doesn't matter that much , as long as you can fit the saddle between your legs

Also don't hesitate to choose a more powerful bike or a bike with fairing, Even if your a learner it won't take more than a week to learn to ride . It's not like Apache is way too much powerful that you can't use or control the power or you will sctrach the fazer's fairing .
Beleive me dude , as you learn riding , you'll know yourself better as of what kind of rider you are and what a rider in you like's or prefers .
The more filters you set in selecting a bike , the more you get confused .
So just buy what you like

                                city riding - fz
                                + highway - riding unicorn
                                + offroading - hunk

mileage uni > hunk > fz
                                resale same
Hope is a good thing ,
